Looks like Golden has a good chance to win his lawsuit

If the fields were in such poor conditions, I would have expected 40-60 non-contact career ending injuries for this argument to hold water. 1 out of 100 is so far outside of the standard deviation that its more of a punchline than a case.
All it took was one person getting burned from a McDonald's cup of coffee and the right attorney.

I could care less about golden, but if this lawsuit somehow gets James Blake fired, so be it.

Golden's argument is going to be "I cared so much for the safety of these kids that I wouldn't even allow my defenders to come within 20 yds of the line of scrimmage"

And the University is going to counter by putting on the Clemson tape

Well he must've really cared about the welfare of the Clemson goal line, then. Cause ween get close to touching that shizz.

Bro, pretty dangerous. We played pick up ball w/ The LA County Sherrifs several years ago at Compton High School. Their field was deplorable. I twisted my ankle that game (non contact), and my home boy tore his ACL that game (non contact). My scenario? There was a slight dip that I didn’t see as I was back peddling, and my boy’s cleat got stuck in a soft spot and he tore his knee apart.

Bad turf is to be taken seriously as a football player.

Horse ****. It's not a minefield!

And it's not like you have to clear the fresh cow patties first - which is kind of like a mine field. Just doesn't explode.

You got a crappy field - you gotta account for it. Kids been playing on every kind of field - some with hard clay and golf ball sized gravel - for decades and decades! Knees bloody, skin ripped off palms. Part of it.

If one can't account for field condition - and overextends or plants his foot too hard - surprise, surprise - when he twists his ankle etc.

Not saying UM maybe shouldn't improve their practice field - but if anyone wants some excuses why we only won six games in a season - PM me - I'll concoct enough excuses to satisfy the most miserable UM fan in moments.

Probably start with Pillars. Now those at random make for an interesting practice field.

I hope Golden wins millions atop of millions. The university needs to snap out of low class mode.

If there is a trial I hope one side isn't loaded with world class wimps who are too petrified to allow witnesses

What happened, Colonel?

The field, sir! Our armor attacked heavy tanks and LAV's in a team wedge formation, closely following a rolling artillery bombardment, and as our infantry assaulted - we suddenly suffered heavy infantry casualties and had to call off the attack!"

"Artillery? OpArmor? What happened?"

"Grass practice field, sir. Twisted ankles, due to several slight depressions, one twisted knee, and one skinned up his butt after planting his foot to change direction. It was a disaster, sir!"

Fire Blake James for cause. He failed to perform his basic function of ensuring player safety.

Just an opinion, that there is a close working relationship between the AD and the multiply stated by outside sources groundskeeper for these consistently being reported as bad practice fields????

Lol.

Bro, you asked how important is the condition of a field is. I gave you real life examples. ****, GB & the Raiders were trying to cancel their pre-season game in Canada b/c of their field conditions. Games in Mexico City was almost cancelled b/c of their field condition. Fields matter to a players health, and in both instances where concerns were expressed, the locations immediately took actions to make it comfortable for the teams performing there, instead of making excuses.

The practice field has chit to do w/ our on-field performance, and I didn't read anywhere someone using that as an excuse as to why we suck on the field. But, as a multi-million dollar entity that became famous b/c of the football team, it would behoove the University to make sure the field they practice on is in good condition so freak accidents can be of less probability.

Did he really say that? And if he did, what the **** for?

He wanted his players to be consistent. Do not take a chance for a possible big play. A cheeseburger is always a cheeseburger.

That whole staff was a bunch of glorified PE coaches.

You know me - I like to state the obvious while trying to not be obvious.:cautious:
