Looking at the 2014 schedule...

7-5 at best. 4-4 ACC at best. But no worries, "This is really Golden's first season, he needs time".

LOL!

You straight up change coaching staffs in 2013 with Duke (Golden and staff to Duke and vice versa). Do you REALLY think Duke still wins the Coastal, while the Canes finsih a distant third?

Before Ryan Williams got hurt, I was thinking that we would win 9 games. But now, I'm not so sure, because honestly Kevin Olsen (Or Kaaya) could be better or worse, and probably will be up and down every game he is in. If Olsen/Kaaya are doing well, the team will be better than with Williams at Qb. But if they aren't Williams would have played better. Basically, to me, Williams is just a solid qb, and you know what you're going to get from him, like an Alex Smith type. Let's just hope Olsen have their best games against Louisville and Nebraska.
But looking at the schedule, The only games I think we will lose are FSU, Nebraska, and Maybe UNC. Honestly, we should woop on Duke, GT, and VT this year, and I think Louisville lost a lot of talent. I think the Coastal Division champs might be decided in our game against UNC though.

Yeah, "We lost Ryan Williams", the 4th rate backup who wasn't good enough to fill in for a injured, awful, stupid Morris when we needed a QB who could do ANYTHING but take sacks, throw INCs and INTs.

THAT'S our new slogan for 2014!

Never mind that 6 of the 7-8 teams that roll over us in 2014 will NOT have a starting QB who is even close to an unproven Olsen or Kaaya.

The difference between us "mopes" and the Golden Roaders is that we have actual facts and data to back up our skepticism.

Their arguments are entirely based on hope.

i thing the strongest fact you have on your side is that our record has consistently improved each year under golden..

Randy Shannon likes this reasoning.

Petrino is going to try and erase the memory of Charlie Strong in UL. What better way then to throttle the last team Strong did. Petrino gave us fits in the past and this could lead to AG losing the team between UL and the two cream puffs sandwiched between Nebraska.Think we bat .500 in ACC play.

Randy Shannon kept his job until his record started going backward. He was never fired while he was still improving.

We can start 5-0 just as easily as we can start 2-3.

I dont know how anyone their right mind can spin anything positively. Did you guys miss those Duke Va Tech and Louisville games?

You know the end of our season....?

Total choke **** job.

1-22 Goldens record against DECENT TEAMS.

You realize Golden is 22-15 at Miami? You seriously cannot be including what he did at Temple in those numbers. Please define "decent team" while you're at it.

I think the criteria that people have used for, "decent teams," in this regard are teams that lost 5 games or less in the entire season and they are including Golden's tenure at Temple.

yep. not a very high standard for "decent" and yet he is still embarrassingly bad vs them.

get ready for DerpU83 or KlanAlmighty to tell you some fairytale about top 20 defenses and 6 or 7 year rebuilds

Were the Gators a decent team?

Refresh our memories.

What exactly was their win/loss record?

Don't you also cry about losing to a 10 win team.

So which is it?

The name of the school or the record?

What's the weed up your *** over? I asked a question. (oh. you poor little fellow, you know, and you don't like the answer!)

I'm not real sure what makes you so completely stupid, but **** it's working. Seven days a week.

The Gators defense Miami played that day, when it was healthy, could have been one of the best defenses ever. I went to every game last year and Dominique Easley was by far the best player I saw. If Bill Belichick drafts you in the first round with only 3 senior year games, you're a special player. Jameis Winston can eat a ****. There's a reason we had only one 3rd down conversion in that game and it wasn't just the average play-calling and poor QB play. Duke ran wild for a quarter and a half and was then shutdown until his 3 yard TD run. So as far as their defense is concerned, it could have been special for the year and I think our performance against them was exceptional and the fact that they went 4-8 clouds how outstanding that defense was that day. Their defense was far and above, "decent."

Their offense was abysmal from the absolute get go. Poor game planning and a waste of above par talent. Their injuries beforehand with Halapio being out and Jones coming back from his virus may have limited them as well, but it's a small difference. As ridiculous as it may sound, Mark D'Onofrio is a better defensive coordinator than Brent Pease is an offensive coordinator. The turnovers that were forced were the result of perfect play calling (Jenkins interception) and players making it happen on their own (Perryman forced fumble.) Florida's big plays, other than the second TD which was the result of confused substitutions, were lucky tosses like Patton's catch over Crawford in the first quarter. As much as we bash D'Onofrio, and rightfully so, for having Shayon Green cover slot receivers, it takes an even worse offensive coordinator to not exploit that matchup like Pease failed to do. So Florida's offense was significantly below, "decent," and was flat out atrocious to watch.

So to your actual question, was the September 7th, 2014 Florida Gators team decent in spite of their final 4-8 record? I would say so, but just barely. Their gross imbalance as a team would be and ultimately was their undoing. They were a 7-5 squad at best.
