Look forward 2026 lineup before portal adds is why Mario is the man for the job long term

There will be a TON of politicking by not only coaches, but conferences AND their TV partners, ACC basically has none as they are second fiddle so we have no choice but to win with style points. WE DONT PLAY ANYBODY THE NATION RESPECTS REST OF SEASON. We have to dominate the competition and look good doing it.

Plus taking the entire 4th qtr off on both sides of ball is a recipe for disaster, hurts younger player development, leaves bad taste in mouth, bad for PR, there is no benefit in going in shell for entire 4th qtr, letting teams back in it. Also very bad from top for coaches to expect players to stay aggressive when they go in shell themselves. We need to jockey for playoff positioning or dont complain when we get screwed over because we are in nailbitters with ACC dreg.

Literally, who cares? You think a 13-0 Miami is getting left out of the playoff or something?

We just need to win. That's literally it. Just keep winning, every single week.

They did away with the nonsense seeding rules after last year, so if we go 13-0, we 100.0% have a bye in the first round, and play nobody better than #6 in the quarterfinals. I'm good with that. Just win. Sure, winning by 50 every week would be great. But I couldn't care less about SEC shills on twitter. Who gives a **** what anyone says? Games are won on the football field. Let anyone say anything they want, at the end of the day, come see us on the field and we'll settle it. This expanded playoff field takes politics out of it if you're an undefeated P4 champ. You're in. And very highly seeded, to boot.

We need to win, flirting with shutting down in 4th qtr to allowing teams back in is against what mario preaches.. I understand 4 minute offense but both offense and defense taking off will get us clipped. We spent all off season complaining about being up 21-0 in upstate ny. Now its all good playing to result.. But ok.

We just need to win, just like we did in upstate NY last season. We didn't need to win by 21, we just needed to win. And we didn't. Yeah, it'd be nice to kill people, but you're saying 2 different things.

You're saying we need to have the attitude that we need to kill everyone, so we don't get into a close game and lose (I agree). And you're also saying we need "style points" to appease some internet troll world (I vehemently disagree).

Just win the games. That's all we need to do. We have 7 more, hopefully 8. Win all of them. If we win all 8 by 50, I'll be ripping my pants off. But if one or two is by 3, but we win all of them, I'm good with that too because we're likely the #1 or #2 seed in the playoff and I'll take my chances.

Just win.

Lineup is very good without the expected 5-7 portal guys. My guess is 1 QB, 1 OL, 1 DT, 1 DE, 1 LB and maybe 1 WR in portal who start or play starter type minutes.

WR - Toney/Moore/JoJo
TE - Lofton/Gilbert/Scott

I thought so too. He's listed as a Senior on the official site (https://miamihurricanes.com/sports/football/roster/season/2025-26/player/markel-bell/) I thought he redshirted his first year at JUCO, similar to McKinnie if memory serves. If he plays well against UL's pass rush on Friday, I think his NFL buzz picks up and he leaves, if he has another year left.

Agree with everything except the part about lofton! He was the talk of the spring and summer sessions...now you think he doesn't fit Cristobal and Dawson's scheme?

3 DTs seems unrealistic. I assume Moten comes back, plus we'll still have Blount and Scott. Hopefully, Russell and Simpson can emerge. I see us taking a relatively big WR class for high school, so three seems like a lot with Trader, Moore, Upshaw and Toney all coming back. Interested to see what Carr and Robinson decide to do
