This discussion is moot until and if we best Clemson. In a probsbly cold stadium relatively close to Clemson where they have played on other occasions. Note also thst our strength of schedule will be dropping based on other scores this week in the ACC and elsewhere. Had we crushed Pitt things might be different, but we didn't and they are not. Just beat Clemson and maybe We're in.

If the question is four best teams then Alabama absolutely should be in. I'm not stupid enough to rely on something as flimsy and one dimensional as strength of schedule. There isn't one reputable personnel evaluator or oddsmaker who wouldn't have Alabama in the top four.

Only occasionally is a stacked team left out. It happened two years ago to Ohio State when JT Barrett blew the Michigan State game as 14 point favorite via 3.8 yards per pass attempt. If you look at the players that 2015 Buckeye team sent into the pros in the 2016 and 2017 drafts it's unfathomable they didn't land in the final four.
