LOOK: Armando Blount buys his mom a car

I find this entire thread sort of fascinating. Kid posts video of him buying mom a car and the comments go in a couple different directions -> yay or shameful judgment. As soon as the video started I thought “kid your heart is in the right place but tap the brakes a second before you put this out there because people are gonna judge.” Sure enough, the internet didn’t disappoint.

Someone mentioned not knowing other people’s positions and someone else mentioned not pocket watching. I totally agree. If Armando was my brother I would whisper to him that it’s usually best to leave personal things personal and not post it on social media. It’s a shame, but that’s sort of the world we live in. At the same time, I get that their generation lives through social media.
Lots of layers to it. It’s also a good look for Miami. Kid comes here to play and he’s buying his momma a new car. She’s happy, he’s happy. It’s an endorsement for what we are doing here.

Sure buying a car is about the worst thing we can do with our money, but we all gotta learn that 😂

I’ve been on both sides of this stuff as a lot of my personal life is on social media in a sort of “influencer” role and there are some truly tragic people running around these days. So you’re gonna get **** on no matter what, may as well do what makes you happy

Good news for Blount is he will have plenty of people on this board criticizing him in every way imaginable once he hits the field!

Congrats to the kid and his family. Whether people think it's a good choice or not, I know it has to feel good for the kid to be able to do that for his mom.

Lotta people in here don’t understand the economy of confidence.

When I bought my first yacht at the age of 23, I did it for all the wrong reasons.

When I bought my 7th at the age of 27, I knew why I was doing it.

This is a beautiful moment for the Blount family.

Who TF died & made yall financial advisers???

Where TF do yall get off telling somebody else how & what to spend their money on?

Go ahead & post your bank statements & your portfolio with all the brilliant multimillion dollar investments you've made, otherwise, quit being a jealous *** hypocrite & stop pocket watching College Football players because you're mad they make money.

Yall don't do that sh*t to any other profession & you have no reason to do it to College Football players.

That sh*t is weak & dishonest AF. Either admit why you're really bothered by it, or get the fck over it.

THE MONEY IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS HERE TO STAY & THE PLAYERS DESERVE EVERY GOD **** PENNY THEY GET AND THEN SOME. And what they choose to do with it is THEIR BUSINESS.
I agree with what you are saying 100% and I'm sick of the hypocritical A$$Hats who are ok with young black men working at McDonalds or in whatever menial job yet get triggered whenever black college athletes make more money than they do.

However if you read this thread carefully, nearly everybody who responded to this has responded positively save for Bird4UM who has called this a horrible decision.

Are we really celebrating this financially?

Horrible move. Sorry.
Who's celebrating this "financially"? Everybody praising it is just saying good for him for showing his mom some love.

Not everything you spend money on has to be wise/smart "financially". Sometimes it's just good or the right thing to do.

Like giving to charity for example. Not always "smart/wise", but usually good or right.

Also horrible decisions.
Who the heck are you to micromanage Armando's purchases? Why don't you submit the evidence of your financial prowess? This is a son showing his mother some love and appreciation! Get it straight!

You know what? This gives him peace of mind and happiness to give back to his MOTHER. Good for him! He’s taking care of his family.

Hasn't made a play. Already spending money. He better make some plays shortly for this sus *** D or he will be a least favorite player.

Again, if it looks good for the program, I support it. So should our fans.

Reliable transportation is a necessity not a luxury. Not having to worry about a loved one’s transportation brings peace of mind knowing they can get to where they need to go safely.

Big props to Armando for insuring his Mom can get around safely.
