Recruiting Stars dont win games

Reality disagrees with this statement. This is not 2003. We're 15 years into the internet "meat market" industry. In that time we've seen the rise of high level 7 on 7 leagues, Nike and UA have national level camps that are covered by an entire industry of reporters. 4 and 5 star kids are much more predictable today than they were a decade ago.

Moreover, many of us here have ripped the last three coaching staffs for not being able to land high star level kids. It appears that coach Golden and staff are changing that.

Those teams don't win in a vacuum. They are also coached up through their careers. We haven't seen that from this staff yet.

I'm actually getting pretty tired of the foregone conclusion you bring in 4 and 5 stars without good coaching and that makes you a top 10 team.

You guyzm are in for a rude awakening.

5* or gtfoh

This Year:

QB: Jake Heaps (5 star) OR Brad Kaaya (4 star)
RB: Duke Johnson (5 star)
WR: Stacey Coley (4 star)
WR: Malcom Lewis (4 star)
WR: Braxton Berrios (4 star)
OL: Flowers (4 star)
OL: KC McDermott (5 star)

Defense...

S: Deon Bush (4 star)
S: Jaamal Carter (4 star)
CB: Tracy howard (5 star)
CB: Artie Burns (4 star)
CB: Corn Elder (4 star)
LB: Denzel Perryman (4 star)
LB: Raphael Kirby (4 star)
LB: Jermaine Grace (4 star)
DE: Tyriq McCord (4 star)
DE: AQM (4 star)
DE: Anthony Chickillo (5 star)

Let's see how it goes.

McDermott was considered a 5 I believe on composites before.

Heaps and Chick were 4*

Theirs many more I can add to this. Dorsett was a 4* on some I believe too. Rivals took away his 4* even after he had a great senior year, never understood that, Waters was a 4* on some. Dallas Crawford was a 4* on some. Shane was a 4*. Owens was 4*. You get the picture, we got talent on the team, hope it translates.

We have talent starting, but I don't like the depth behind the starters. Need another recruiting cycle or two to get the kind of depth we need around here.

I wouldn't say it's too far fetched. On the 5 star thing though.

Believe Yearby was a 5 star at one point on some site as someone said. He was more like a 4/5 kind of guy. He was near the 5 star rating.

Kaaya I think got robbed, shoulda been a 5*. I think personally he didn't get it cause he got discovered later. Especially after his playoff run and all star game I was shocked he didn't get the 5. Strong *** arm and prototype QB size.

Bruce is in the range on rankings where he could end up a 5 star.

I think Mullins would be a high 4.

Should actually watch for Snelson. He could be a 5.

I think Scarlett and Williams could end up 5* or just right there at high 4. Both top 5 backs in 2015.

Walton will land 5th star for 2016. Top 5 back in 2016.

Cronk a high 4.

Still a lot of talent.

I think Allison has the potential and build to end up a 5 star.

Quarterman best linebacker in 2016. I'm expecting 5 star for him.

This I can agree with on the depth part.

At OL, DT, and LB.

Which I see the staff addressing at already. Just needs 1 more year or two and we should be up to snuff. We added KC, Darling and Linder at OL, Wyche, Heurt, Moten and Jenkins at DT and Owens, Young and McCray at linebacker. But to completely fix depth wise there at those three. Really think we have to do well at those in 2015 and 2016 classes. Which looks like were on our way, DT does need work though.

I think we are good on talent wise on depth at QB, RB, WR, TE, DE, CB, S.

But obviously must continue to recruit those too,so we don't fall back. Feel we really fixed, QB, DE, CB, and S recently.

CB could be in danger for next year, we must do well in 2015 for that to maintain.

I'm concerned with our kicking and punting game though. Hoping for the best. Haven't heard good things on Goudis. Hope Semerene can snag it from him if that's the case. I think Vogel will be fine at punter.

Don't forget newcomers like Chad Thomas.

The question is will Golden stay to see that class through or leave us for the NFL?

It ****es me the fk off that this has to be reported every two months. I mean it's common fkin sense, why follow recruiting when you think a team of three stars will win u a title?

U listed no DTs and it's why we will struggle, biggest most important players r upfront.
Epic fail by the staff and Moten and Wyche are not ready so we fked again on d IMO.

Tell that to the USC team that lost to GT (first thing that comes to mind). Players need to be developed and placed in advantageous situations..
