JV coaching staff all around. I get the feeling players don't even respect this staff.

You don't like the staff that's fine. But how about playing for your fellow teammates? Playing for the fans who pay and take up an entire Saturday to come see you? In the golden age, that's all the players talked about. Playing for the man next to you. I never heard any of them say they played for Butch or Jimmy or Howard or Dennis. They played because they didn't want to let the man next to them down.

I am not happy with certain members of the staff either (mainly Enos and Baker) but I am not letting the players off the hook with a "I don't like the staff, scheme or play calling so I'm just going to half-a$$ it in protest"...F that.

“Changing the culture is something years in the making” He is talking about competing. His defense should be cultured by now. Year 4 there should be no excuses, that has always been HIS unit.
We are missing a few guys that are now playing on Sunday in the back end. Lots of coverage breakdowns, that hopefully become less and less as the season goes on. The only touchdown they gave up CMU ran about 20 plays from inside the 10 to finally score.

I would love to see us simplify stuff and attack. Too much thinking going on.

A players skill caliber has absolutely NOTHING to do with the effort they put forth

Our defense is quitting? When you blow a coverage no amount of effort is going to make up 20 yards on a guy. We don't have a disruptive DT, maybe that changes with Nesta back. Our issues on defense aren't due to effort.

You know I’m talking about Manny’s comments today about how guys on both sides of the ball are not competing to their maximum efforts consistently on a day to day basis?!?

You loaf, you die.

Thats what my wrestling coach believed in. And if one guy loafs, everyone loafed.

Didn't happen often, but wearing sweats, doing wind sprints on the basketball court carrying your team captain on your back gets old very, very quickly.

I don't disagree at all

Do they not compete?

Im not sure if you’re trolling or not, but heres a piece from Stefan’s piece on Manny’s presser today:

According to Diaz, competitive effort in practice during the week is directly tied to playing time on Saturday’s.

“You’re trying to play your most competitive guys, want to recruit the most talented, competitive guys you can find,” Diaz said.

Does Diaz feel Miami has competitive players in his locker room?

“We don’t have noncompetitive guys, our guys are competing,” Diaz said. “The difference is how often are we competing and are competing at different times.”

You can connect your own dots..
