An article in SBNation today says that the ACC is so bad that even if tbe Canes win out and become ACC champs we would not make the playoffs.

Well, I hope we do win out to find out.

Perhaps we could run the regular season schedule, but Clemson is still a bit of a large hurdle for us.

Conference winners should always get in but we aint winning the conference title game most ofnus know this already. Last year bama got in and even though they were the best winning your conference should be the ticket. Bama had no business getting in

It's a bit early to say anything for sure but it's not exactly like there's a bunch of powerhouses left on Miami's schedule. Right now we've got two remaining games against currently ranked opponents and a possible third against Clemson if Miami wins the Coastal. They're going to need some help.

Every single year, "experts" think 5 teams are going undefeated and outside of a few exceptions, there are usually none. Don't let yourself get wrapped up in who experts think will make the playoff in September. Worry about it in December and enjoy everything in between.

If we win out its gonna come down to the "best loss" bs. Stupidest thing I've ever heard. If we win out and beat an undefeated Clemson it would be hard to keep out a conference champion with 1 loss that has a win over Clemson.

Only scenario I could see a problem is if Alabama, Ohio State, and Oklahoma win out and they're in and we beat an undefeated Clemson for the ACC title, which isn't happening anyway. Then, Alabama beat an undefeated UGA for the SEC.

It would come down to a 1 loss Miami (conference champ, wins over Clemson, VT, BC and loss vs LSU) or UGA (wins over LSU, Auburn, UF, etc and loss to Alabama. Non-conference champ). Can't trust the polls not to pick an SEC team in that scenario. Not that it's gonna happen but theoretically...

People love to make statements like this 1/4 of the way into the season. They just need something to talk about. Lets see where things stand at the end of the season. Let the chips fall where they may. Canes need to control the things they can and focus on the next game, because the next one is the most important one.

I hate to even dignify this crap, but of course I will.

This happens every year, and people always forget the same thing. If we string together 11 wins in a row we will be one of the very few teams with 11 wins. That would put us in the top 10. No question about SOS, an 11 win P5 team is in the top 10. If you heap a win over undefeated top 3 Clempson on that, we're in. No question. Our loss, even if lsu doesn't look good by then will be to an SEC team and it will have been months ago which voters can totally forgive. It's the late season losses they won't look past (outside the SEC).

It's the exact same thing every year.

That’s bullsh*t a 1 loss Miami that happens to beat Clemson in that scenario will undoubtedly be in

The 2014 Ohio State Blackeyes lost to a pretty bad unranked VaTech team that finished the season 7-6 AT HOME, made the playoffs and won the chip while only winning one regular season game against a ranked opponent. They didn't play their second ranked opponent until the B1G championship.

SB Nation analysis at this point about as accurate (and relevant) as the endless vomit of "here is my way to early 2019 Top 25".

Waste of digital ink.

Hypothetically, let’s assume all of the below teams are conference champs at the end of the season, who gets left out?

11-1 Miami
11-1 Alabama
11-1 OSU
11-1 OK
11-1 WA
Both the acc and big 12 are 3/4 in Terms of conferences and the pac 12 is even weaker than both of them

That's exactly the season I was thinking of, I'm just too lazy to have looked it up.

I shouldn't be responding to this post, because I TRY not to address rankings before Halloween. However, WHY is the "ACC so bad?" What makes Miami and Clemson bad teams? Is Louisville a bad team?
