LIVE BLOG: Miami at #14 Virginia

They do that in half their games. We shot WAY ABOVE our avg and still lost. They are better
Better in Charlottesville. I’ll still take UM at a neutral site. WE won’t shoot as well from the FT line next game, but they won’t shoot nearly as well from 3. I think we still win that equation, but it will be a close game.

Both teams shot far better than their averages. But they make 10+ 3’s in over half their games. They are far more likely to do that again than we are. We’re just a bad matchup for them bc we rebound and they can’t.

It’s ok to admit. We just played one of the best offensive games of the season and still lost.

As soon as Donaldson flashed to the top of the key I knew that was the design. I get you have to get s guy open to shoot before the foul but either run three screens and a quick pop out or just chuck a prayer.
Not even getting a shot off after doing so well to get it to half court and even have that opportunity was brutal...must win the next two against FSU and BC

UVA wasn't better. Without those 3 pt shooters, they lose by double digits.
They were better because they consistently made those shots. Miami played awful perimeter defense, as has been the case all season. Virginia made the plays they needed to make.

This loss hurts, not because it was a bad loss(It wasn't), but because it was a missed opportunity. Miami had a chance to steal a road win over a ranked team and clinch a NCAA Tournament bid, and didn't make winning plays late. Good teams find a way to win these games, because winning today can possibly be the difference between playing in the 8/9 game or a 7/10. That said, as long as Miami takes care of business against the teams they should beat(BC, FSU), then this is a mere hiccup..

FSU could be favored over Miami, and is playing extremely good basketball.
