Lingard

He has great speed and vision. His problem is that he is still learning to block. Typical freshman issue. Once he picks up the blocking scheme, he will move up in the rotation.

Hasn’t stopped Gray from playing

I truly feel in 3-4 years we will see him drafted in the top 10 . He is the most talented back the U has had IMO since Mcgahee .

I'm assuming the only reason you skipped over Gus Edwards is because he transferred.

Rosier must hate him too.
He covers himself.

This is so true

Ridley at wide receiver versus learning to play running back is apples and oranges. Wide receiver is by far the easiest position on the field to transition from one level to the next. It is basically run this route or block the guy in front of you. The easy part of running back is the running. Identifying who is coming at your QB in pass protection, even pro RB's and QB's struggle with that. Struggle with it enough, you'll get your QB killed and that's why he was fifth string going into this game. Once he gets that down, the sky is the limit and there isn't anything unusual about a freshman struggling in that department as it's the norm.

Doesn't know the entire playbook or pass pro consistently well? Well, Choc certainly doesn't pass pro well and since when does having to learn the entire playbook when we don't use most of it affect a talented kid's production or PT? Send the kid in for an occassional carry/screen pass. If a kid is THAT talented, it's 100% on the coaches for not figuring out how to get him on the field.

lol at 5th on the depth chart.
The excuses we hear for young players not playing over older players just don’t fly. So many contradictions that it makes them all unbelievable.

I was just using hyperbole with the Ridley thing

You’re right of course I was just making a joke about it being a bit overplayed

Naw real talk my ***** it does take backs time to pick up blocking schemes. That's an intelligence issue not coaching some pick it up faster than others not saying he's not smart or a fast learner just saying the coaches can only show you what to look for they can't make you remember when live bullets are flying.

Amen

My argument to this would only put him in on 100% running plays, dude is too explosive.
