Virginia Tech always had unreal hand timed 40 numbers. Vick ran a sub 4.2 40, according to them. I always said they ran their 40s down the side of a mountain, since they were always a good 3-4 tenths off what their players ran at the combine.[/QUOTE]

Mind blown. They said big ol Robert Burns is the second fastest back. Wrap your mind around that behemoth being faster than Homer. Homer is fast! Jeff Thomas, Harley, Richards,Burns and Lo, could all be 4.3 40 guys on offense with Homer right behind.
 
You think a laser timed device would be easy to set up if you know you're running the forty that day. Were in the age where data and analytics are used so frequently, you would want to record the most accurate data to scope improvement.

Reporting times faster than what they actually run. Remember dorsett running a 4.2 on Greentree? He ran a 4.33 at the combine. Duke Johnson low 4.4? He ran a 4.54 at the combine

True story. I was a kid when he played at North Fort Myers high and we all thought he was the fastest man on earth. He almost outran his Jeri curl. Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Ft Myers/Cape Coral....NFM Grad 1978.....Jammi German was as fast as Deion...
