Lingard in the Portal

its true that his High School offense did not prepare him well for the next level. But Chaney runs in that a similarly ancient offense.

I bet you Clemson or some other top program would find a way to get his skills on the field and useful.
and it will be an adjustment for Chaney too..it’s cray to me how y’all just gloss over him getting hurt..then expecting him to be ready and a coaching staff to just throw him out there after no spring or fall ball..but hey fans don’t think about stuff in a rational way

Apparently, all the insiders on Warchant are saying he's going to UF. Just wonderful, if true.

It would be a fair ‘question’ for someone who didn’t pay attention to our team for the past 2 years. But not, imo, if you have.

We have had multiple kids quit and come back. Think about that. I have never heard Lingard wasn’t trying or didn’t have a good attitude.

The cancer on this team is Manny, unfortunately. He’s Typhoid Manny of Miami, causing problems while he professes to want to fix them.

And asking questions can be unfair, if the question implicitly disparages a kid. That’s actually a common way the media starts rumors. Oh hey, just a question.

Bull's eye! Diaz is the one and only one who's F'd up the offense with his politics and all that. Again, I'm waiting on one of those QB's to bolt Greentree. Yikes.

Sad, what a waste of talent not being used at the 🙌🏼🙌🏼. Smh. Atrocious. Only 5 star recruit on the roster and u don’t even know how to use him. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Lorenzo was/is an elite athlete no doubt. But when it came to the actual RB position, he honestly was not a perfect fit. He ran a little upright and didn’t have the ability to move laterally that other RBs seem to.

Maybe he can be down the road and I hope he is, because the way he’s handled himself here has been very respectable, but he’s not a great RUNNING BACK yet, and the unfortunate injury isn’t exactly speeding up the process.

I agree that he runs high and lacks wiggle. You could see that from his high school highlights. I mentioned it and got negged to oblivion on the recruiting board.

But what frustrates me is that you can't find a role for a guy with his speed? Even situationally?

Lol;

How much u wanna bet if the shoe was on the opposite foot for Cam, he would enter the portal?

It’s real easy to throw up the peace sign when you’re the benefactor.

Here’s my gripe w some of you who are sneak dissing Lo’s decision:

I don’t get is how so many fans can justify why J Phillips entered the portal, justifying & bashing Chip Kelly as a reason. I don’t get how fans can defend and justify Bolden entering the portal, smashing down on Helton & how SC mishandled a situation involving him as to y it was cool to quit his team. YET, we have nut jobs on here, after WITNESSING w/ their own eyes, after HEARING w/ their own ears how FCKED up this season has been, and how **** POOR Manny has been in trying to change narrative after narrative to defend his ineptitude, are still finding a way to blame Lo for his decision & low key sneak defend Manny and the culture!!

It’s truly mind boggling. Be a fan, but be objective & stop being blind to facts. Manny has provided us facts; not assumptions, but facts as to him being the problem, not Lo, Hightower, George, Pope, Reed, Bandy, Garvin, and other future kids who will declare early for no rhyme or reason/transfer.
Not dissing Lo at all, no reason too. My comment was towards the whole "good luck to you" culture (social media). I also have a problem when recruits play the trollin' game and it's "liked" by commits and even coaches. Just not a fan of this everyone is my fam culture. If a player hit the portal that's fine, but no need for the extra farewell nonsense from the CURRENT players on social media. Text or email them that mess, lol. But I got your point.

"The cancer is Manny" is the type of declarative statements I speak of. That is unfair, imo. You can certainly question if Manny is right for job. But you are referring to him as some disease. Why is that fair? The "culture" issues actually predate Manny. Maybe he is inadvertently perpetuating it, but historically, as a follower of the program, I can pretty surely say he is not the cause of it.

Dallas and Homer played over Lingard because they were better players. When Lingard signed, everyone assumed he would take carries from those two right away. That didn't happen because of his limitations.

Richt had Todd Gurley and still found a way to get Sony Michel and Nick Chubb meaningful touches as soon as they stepped on campus. RB is not an experience position. There is some pass pro to learn, but you can either run or you can't. The fact that Lingard didn't get any meaningful touches under Richt should tell you all you need to know.

Then he got hurt. If he was healthy, he would've been ahead of Burns. Harris would have probably beaten him out. Sucks to lose him but there's no conspiracy here.
But that isn’t the allegation. It’s incompetence by Manny in managing the roster and the kids. There is a pattern here. Kids want out of UM. We can’t keep kids from the draft even when they aren’t likely to get drafted. Kids quit, we welcome them back. We haven’t played with 85 scholarship kids in a decade. It’s manny’s job to manage egos, hopes and expectations, communications. Whatever happened with Lingard, it’s clear Manny has done a **** poor job managing culture and getting kids to want to be here. That’s on him.

Go blow manny some more and try harder *****
Very middle schooler of you. I can care less about *****. He'll have his day of reckoning. But the Canes are forever.
Stick to the name calling though it solidifies your Rhodes Scholar persona....

Sorry, but go back and try again because your porst is idiotic. Why is it fair? How about because those are manny’s own fcuking words that he chosed to trot out as excuses for **** poor play. If i’m using his description back on him, so be it.

If you can’t see his role in that, and even how he tries to use it as an excuse while he makes it worse, then you’te blind.

Oh, and you seem to have bought into his disease concept, anyhow, since you asked whether lingard was part of the cultural disease manny talks about. Nice spinning.

I agree with the core of your post, Ethnic, but that absolutely IS the allegation from many many people. Not just "managed poorly" by Manny, no no no. That Lo was healthy, ready, able to contribute, would have benefited the team if out there, but the staff just straight refused to play him. Personal. Conspiracy. That's exactly what's being pushed by lots of people right now, man.

Stop rooting against kids. Don’t be mad we hired a super fan as coach that kids don’t respect it’s the same as hating on Mario, hating on uga when we hired richt. If you bang a dirty girl and get the clap, you don’t have to root for everyone else to get the clap
