Agree with that all day, that's what's difficult for me to figure out because it all depends on the personnel groupings.McCloud and Brooks with Gil at Striker.
Agree with a lot here LCE - so much depends on alignment.
- First guess, i'm thinking McCloud (WLB) and Brooks (MLB) in a 2 LB set with Gil at striker. Do i think this is the best set for us? No.
- I think we would have the athleticism to play a more traditional 3 LB set next year with McCloud/Brooks/Huff. McCloud is much better when attacking than reading, so Pinckney's WLB role and blitzing seems like the best fit with Brooks inside and Huff on the other side (speed to cover).
- I would flip TAC and Flagg, putting Flagg inside.
- Jennings would be backup MLB, Joyner backup WLB.
- Gil and Harrell at Striker.
- Steed i keep out of the equation until we see his health. The guy was really talented coming in but injuries have derailed his career.
If we went to a traditional 3 LB set it would be easy to slot Brooks, Huff & McCloud, but in the 4-2-5 you got 2 guys that are really Sam Backers in Huff/McCloud but they would have to play Weak Side & the Striker spot is Frierson but are they running with Brooks, Huff & Frierson as their 3? I doubt it.
Corey Flagg could definitely play Mike LB, but I like TAC's upside as a backup MLB but I expect them to play him at WLB. And if we landed Hyppolite he could play both Mike & Will too, Greene is a Sam or a Will backer.
This wasn't my personal ideal lineup, it was what I would project the staff to do, which is unpredictable lol.
