I guess another option is Enos isn’t technically demoted, but a position coach is brought in and tasked with adapting the offense.

This is exactly what LSU did with having Joe Brady come in as passing game coordinator to help whoever the OC is there.

Steve Ensminger makes almost $1 million to be the Co-OC/QB's coach at LSU while Joe Brady is making less than a half million. There is precedent but we are poor so I doubt something like this happens.
