Lightfoot Injury?

I don't post here often but I know someone connected to Lightfoot and he will definitely be back for FSU. Came out of the game with a minor elbow injury but did not come back in due to another injury I have not seen anyone publicly mention so I would prefer not to provide the details out of respect to my friend.
This is how stupid rumors start that end up hurting players in the draft.

If what you posted is true, you are a ******* idiot.

We aren't creating explosive runs. And, to be clear, I think our OL and run game has improved every game this year and is becoming an efficient operation. But, we aren't creating explosive runs.

Against our 4 FBS opponents, we have just 3 runs of 20+ yards.

- Marty Brown 32 yards against WF
- CWH 35 yards in garbage time against CMU
- Mensah 34 yards against Clemson

Brown is out for the year. CWH may never get a non-garbage time offensive snap here. Mensah's was a scramble.

We had the same issue last year until Fletcher went beast mode in multiple playoff games. In 2024 we were pretty elite at creating explosive runs, since then we have really struggled:

Given enough opportunities Fletcher will get a long run or two as the season goes on. Mallory could too. But, I think we should keep giving Pringle and Lyle chances, because our offense levels up bigtime if we are a legit threat to be explosive in the run game again.
I agree with giving Lyle more chances because Lyle can block. Two years in and Pringle has still shown he cannot block in pass protection and that’s not gonna do it for me and clearly it’s not gonna do it for Mario. If you can’t block in this offense, you will not play and that’s how it should be.

That’s the only explanation. The whole notion of him being too stiff (which he is somewhat) and not being ready to play college ball strained credulity to me.

This was a kid who got here in mid December, got good reviews from practice and then later - as you said - did well as our stating LT only to completely disappear during the season. Either he’s been banged up or he feels really out of place at guard. Even if it was the latter, I would have expected him to show out a little better.

His whole trajectory has been really weird.
You guys are really overhyping how well cantwell did in spring, I’m gonna break the surprise for you all, he was serviceable at Best at left tackle in spring. He progressed slightly, but still just serviceable, he wasn’t good and he wasn’t great in spring. Here is the reality for you guys when it comes to Cantwell, yes, he has all the tools, but he isn’t ready yet, so shut up about it! Next year will be a different story, but he’s not ready now. Smh

100%. We gotta get outside the tackles and stop being so predictable. A few counters, screens, QB runs and some misdirection could open things up big time.
Those will come when the competition gets tougher. Try to be patient folks. Regardless of the name on the Jersey of Clemson, we really haven’t played anyone yet.

He should look no further than Samson. Raw his freshman year and dealt with injuries. Finally a chance and he’s going to be one and done 1st round.

Either way he’s not ready yet. All we can do is be patient with him and I think next season will be a different story.

So this thread is titled Lightfoot Injury...

But magically turns into a Cantwell thread

People on this board have backup Tourettes.

Cantwell has a really bad habit of popping straight up at the snap.

He wasn’t doing it that much in the spring, but late in camp and thru the start of the season jets every god**** snap.

He knows what he needs to do.

He’ll get his snaps back when he cleans that up,

He was wearing sunglasses after the game, and I thought that was weird... so makes more sense. No brace, no sling, etc.

I heard concussion too but it'd be really, really weird to diagnose a kid with a concussion, or even think he might have a concussion, and then let him put on sweats and walk back onto the field for the 2nd half. Again, nothing is impossible, but that's really weird "treatment". If you have a concussion, you're in the locker room.

But, it would make sense considering he came out with no braces, support, bandage, etc. So nothing looked physically hurt, which means it's very possibly only his head was hurt, but again if that's the case, why the **** is he on the sideline?

Either way, and please punch me in the **** if this turns out to be wrong, but a player walking out in sweats with zero noticeable injury really doesn't scream "long-term" to me. If he was on crutches, in a boot, in a sling, etc....obviously. But he was just chilling in sweats, can that really me a several week thing?

I'm leaning towards we see him for FSU.

You will also not play in the NFL
