Folks, I do not post much. I do read a good amount depending on the quality of the posts though. I have more knowledge on this team than the vast majority of you. Many of you have terrific knowledge on this team and know much of the ins and outs of the game. I will say however, that many of you, not all, clearly don't care about the players on this team and don't understand that some of your moronic thoughts are a detriment to your goals. Your negative comments on this board and other boards do not help in anyway. All you do is feed a negative atmosphere that hurts the potential growth in the future of this team through recruiting and putting self-doubt on the players. This is a free sight, and I will tell you that recruits and their parents read this board and your negativity impacts this teams ability to recruit. I can't be happier for Ivy as he showed all of you wrong. Unless you are a FSU fking Pig **** mother fking batch fk, SUPPORT THE DAM TEAM!

This team and the coaches have a challenge at the WR position and in the passing game. They are working to find solutions. Let's given them a chance. They have fixed some serious deficiency we had last year, some of which with the same players. Give this team a chance.

Do you think the 3 guys ended up in a tight space because that was how the play was designed? If so, I would agree with you, the scheme is crap and it is horrible coaching.

However, I'd say it's more likely this is game 3 of a brand new offensive system and 1 or 2 of the receivers ran an incorrect route. Again, something that coaching needs to correct, but understandable that it happens when installing a new system.

Drops, bad throws, missed FGs, blocked FGs, and just plain bad execution were the killers on Saturday. This is not the most exciting offensive system out there, but with 4 red zone drives, they were in position to put over 24 points on the board against one of the best D's in college football on the road.

Yes.

The entire scheme is straight out of the 90’s. It’s the same thing Mario ran at Oregon, where he essentially wasted Justin Herbert. He doesn’t believe in pace and space. Everything has to be physical and slow - from the development of the plays to the tempo in which they are run.

It’s who he is.

I have to agree with you OP. Losing affects recruiting at all schools. College kids are impressionable. We need to win
 
We are going to need to recruit at an INSANELY high level for this offensive scheme to have any shot at succeeding here. I just don’t understand why such a smart guy would make things infinitely harder on himself. Hubris, I guess. Same thing casued the downfall of Golden and Richt. At least Manny tried to adapt. He just didn’t have the capability.

Agreed the scheme is out of the '90's. Going to disagree about having 3 passing routes ending in the same place, I can't think of any offense that actually wants that to occur.

Not the same place exactly, but the same general area.

We will see in the coming weeks if it was an error as you believe, or by design. I think it’s the latter.

Sure. But offensively, WR is the only position that’s truly lacking top end talent. We have a guy who was a projected 1st rounder at QB. We have a real solid stable of RB’s. The OL + TE are serviceable, if unspectacular.

The talent is also fixable with better recruiting. The scheme is not, unless Mario goes against everything he’s ever known + preached.

Agree on the talent on offensive side of the ball. The other units are very good to serviceable. We do need some top end talent at wr. But we also need the guys we have to play at a higher level. Hopefully with good coaching, effort, and getting more comfortable with the system, they can progress.

The spacing and pace aren’t there. I don’t know why on many plays we aren’t using the entire field. When I watch say an OSU or Riley offense, the field looks bigger. I get jealous. I want that. Like you, I hope Mario can change/adapt and not be stubborn. It’s the killer trait of a coach.
