Let's talk Pittsburgh

i mentioned it in the breakdown stats thread, but they are miserable at protecting their qb. 102nd in the country, mix that in with a true freshman against our #1 defense in turnovers, sacks, and TFL and you have problems

I imagine there will be a lot of quick passes. Hope we are not giving up that big cushion early. I want a pick 6 on the very first little short confidence builder pass. Break his spirit right off the bat.

virginia rolled the pocket and absolutely murdered us.. i hope diaz can counter that because i guarantee pitt and clemson will do the same after watching what it did to us

It’s going to be cold. Not sure if most of the guys on the team have even been in weather that cold before (let alone play in it)

Forecast for Pitt on Friday:
47 and sunny.

In the game Coley went off a few years back was 33 degrees.

Weather will not be a factor.

Coaches looking to come out with no injuries. I think they play a conservative close game. Just win. Then get ready for Clemson.

very true. they were VERY well coached & prepared. had a blocker waiting for our delayed blitz almost every time.

The scheduling of this game sets us up well for the ACC CG.

We play on the short week, meaning we get the extra day to prepare for Clemson. As well, we play outdoor in a cold environment. That will get the kids ready for the outdoor game in Charlotte. Will likely be similar weather.

I agree. Clemson has a tough ame against USCe. They could lose that game, but I hope they win.

All I know, is Pitt has a "game of a lifetime" in them somewhere...I just hope it doesn't show up this week. I'm on high alert, I don't care for the phony bravado.

SOMEONE TELL ME WE ROLL.

If there is one thing the NC game should have taught us, it's not to let a record or stats fool you. According to the stats we should have beaten NC by 30+. Pitt, while not very good, is not garbage. They are VERY close to being 7-4 instead of 4-7. They have played a tougher schedule than most. Two of their losses were to Penn State and Oklahoma State. They darn near beat VT last weekend, and lost by 3 to NC the week before. The same Syracuse team that beat Clemson and hung with us only beat them by 3. We will need a good effort to beat them, because this IS their bowl game. We won't need to be perfect, but we can't play like crap.

Uh, their frosh QB had them on the goal line when time ran out at VT last week.

Pitt will be playing a home game at noon the Friday after Thanksgiving when the majority of the student body is either at home, recovering from the night before, or shopping. The majority of the team is from PA/NJ/OH, so unless the coaches are keeping their players in for the holiday, I would not be surprised if several of their players are spending Thanksgiving with their families thinking about anything but their horribly disappointing season (while UM's players and coaches are spending the holiday together).

Friday temperature is currently a high of 47 F and a low of 39 F, and considering the game is at noon, expect it to be much closer to the high throughout the game (so mid 40s) -- by no means freezing. To the extent it is a bit cold, Pitt's got 14 guys on their roster from Florida that'll be feeling as chilly as our guys.

But most importantly, it seems like they are starting a True Freshman at QB -- who began the season as the third stringer they hoped to redshirt. Even if they don't start the Freshman (Pickett), Pitt's starting QB to begin the season was lost for the season back in October.

I just want a clean game played and a victory. Then we can sit back and watch Clemson play a physical Muschamp team that hopefully makes them have to really work for a W.

Yeah, I know this guy who almost fvcked Natalie Portman. He works at Kinkos now and is married to a solid 5.

We better be ready. This is their bowl game. It will be cold. They are well coached and are much better than their record would indicate.

And please no more zone coverage!!
