Let's talk Diaz coaching tree...

You got nothing to worry about bro. I heard he is going to bring in a few guys from Bandas Coaching tree. These guys having been really honing their craft the last few years and are currently able to mix up 15 drinks in under 2 minutes.

This is Manny's 1 and only big shot to hit a grand slam as a HC...this is his dream job. There is no way Manny doesn't make bold moves with the offense and its staff. Manny knows what needs to be done and most definitely realizes that this current offensive staff, save maybe 1 or 2 coaches, need to go.

Valid point and I hope you're right.

Is this really his "dream job"? He is, after all, an FSU grad. Most people always wanna coach their alma mater.

When him and MR got here, wasn’t it Diaz who yelled at the D (& the team), ‘If you leave the U of Miami and haven’t beaten fsu, you haven’t done anything!!’

Great points & I’m genuinely concerned about his coaching tree also. For me it’s not even about his initial hires. It’s his 2nd, 3rd & maybe 4th hire at a coordinator spot or position coach bc if you’re as good as you hope to be then you’re going to lose coaches for a variety of reasons..so the question about his coaching tree is not only who his initial hires will be but who can he potentially replace them with if & when they decide to take other jobs.

Any HC is only as good as the coaching tree they can pull from.

Manny knows at the end of the day its business not personal. He too has been on the other side of the chopping block. Jon Richt will need to learn this lesson. I wouldn't be surprised if Diaz busted a Kelly and let the entire or most of offensive staff go. The new OC will want his guys too to be fair. I think he keeps Jess Simpson. But it's a matter of whether Jess wants to work for Manny. I think he bolts. I think Searels is toast. I think Brown and Dugans are roast beef. Hartley is a Mork guy so I have a feeling he bolts by next year. Manny better be kung fu mastering all the signs right now if I were him. If he feels the vibe is negative from the offensive guys...he better 86 everyone and kill the plague before it spreads. If it were me, I'd fire everyone on both sides. Poach the best and brightest minds to use the gold mine that is South Fl.

I called it

I think the hire is pathetic and lazy. I wanted an established HC and an offensive guy.
However, Diaz has the personality of charisma of a great head coach.
And although I think his defense is overrated, it's good enough to compete for national championships if it's paired with a great offense.

Will he send the whole offensive staff packing, though?
Does he have the balls to essentially say "Hey I know we've been grinding/coaching together for the last 3 years but yall boys gotta go."
I don't know. I don't know what his relationship is like with those coaches on the other side of the ball. For all we know, he may like them and be apart of the excuse train. ("Kids aren't executing.")
Yall are ASSUMING that Manny disapproves of the offensive staff and is going to clean house. We don't know that. I sure as **** hope so, though. I'm sure he's not a fan of having his defense on the field all game.

With that said...
When coaches get their first HC gig they often call on guys from their tree to join them. Sometimes new HC's like familiarity.

Let's talk Manny's tree. Who has he coached with over the years that has been good on offense? I'm genuinely asking because I don't know, but I'm betting that those will be some of his first phone calls. It's not always sure-fire but this may give us a good idea at who he may be targeting.
Has he worked with anybody in the past worth considering?

A good offensive staff can make Diaz successful here IMO.

Jess lost most the DL targets not sold on him yet

Who did he lose?

Only 2 I know of are:
Braylen Ingram, who was silently committed and Bama flipped him.
Kevin Patrick, who was about to announce a commitment to Miami, until Bama dropped bags and he flipped last second.

Don't know a coach in America that's beating Bama head to head for a recruit..

I think Applewhite is a guy he coached with. I played under Ponce he has an extremely fire personality and don’t take ****. My boy played rb for him at fiu when Cristabol was there and he said the same. His personality is very similar to manny

Sounds like the Miami Cuban personality. Not a criticism.
