Let's talk Diaz coaching tree...

Ponce as QB coach is fine. You don’t give him the OC job.
There’s no way any offense coach should be retained other than Hartley as TE coach only.
At the very least Brown, Searles, and Jon have to go. That would leave at least 4 open coaching spots.
Lol at anyone wanting to keep any of Richt’s delusional yes men.

This is how Manny needs to approach the offensive staff room...

Diaz worked for 3 mediocre coaches. Richt, Brown, and Mullen.

The later being the least accomplished of the bunch.

Listen, MD is not going to bring in a great OC who has a better claim to be a HC than him. It will be a green coach another yes man

I know it would never happen but man would I like to see them pony up the money and convince leach to finally retire to his Keys house here in Florida and take that OC position. A man can dream

You got nothing to worry about bro. I heard he is going to bring in a few guys from Bandas Coaching tree. These guys having been really honing their craft the last few years and are currently able to mix up 15 drinks in under 2 minutes.
Without one over pour. Management was estatic....

We had a 6’8 tight end who couldn’t catch a cold. Ponce said to him “ David when you get to heaven God is going to ask you, what did you do with my height? He said you’re going to look God in the eyes and say not a **** thing” he proceeded to tell him I’m going to throw you the ball every game once a game to expose your sorry *** bc you could **** up a wet dream” he actually did it ran pop pass to the tight end to prove his point every game.

Just to give you an insight on what type of personality he has. All the in fighting in the locker room on the offensive side i don’t think it’s going down like that. He’s a Miami guy!! Attitude is not for the bs

So to prove to a kid with butter fingers that he can’t catch he was determined to pass to him every game? Sounds reasonable.

Diaz Will be a pretty good hire if he brings in and keeps the Right assistants. People forget that Jess Simpson was named Associate Head Coach. I'm saying this because Simpson was the HC for Buford high school, which won tons of championships under him, since I live like 5 mins from the High school I can tell you that he is well known in Georgia. He was also the Atlanta Falcons Defensive Assistant when the Falcons. We just need one more good and knowledgeable defensive assistants, preferably a LB/ST Coach, and hire Bedenbaugh as OC/OL coach, Frank Ponce as QB/Co-oc coach, Hartley as TE coach and recruting analyst, as well as put the pressure on Dugans and Brown. Considering Dugan's and brown's positions, if Manny does do this they probably won't like it, since it will be a demotion move and leave, which will be just fine. So in all you have got rid of everybody who was a question mark.

Manny's coaching tree is what makes him such an underwhelming and under-qualified hire. Guy has absolutely zero connections to OC's out there or position coaches at major programs that are revolutionizing the way offenses play nowadays. He's never even been mentored by great coaches of the past. He's been brought up by guys like Mack Brown, Chuck Amato and Mork Richt.

Why are we taking a risk on a guy who may have no idea how to win?

I don't know why some of yall are trippin' about Ponce. He's a really good offensive coach.
Name-wise he's not a splash hire but his offense is legit.

Marc Trestman wil be one of those guys he talks to. And i disagree with his defense being overrated but that’s fine. I like ponce as an up and comer.

Diaz has coached under Bobby Bowden, Chuck Amato, Rick Stockstill (Middle Tennessee), Dan Mullen, Mack Brown and Mark Richt.

Diaz was a grad assistant under Bowden before Bowden turned into a walking corpse. Diaz also coached under Mullen, who I think is a pretty good coach. And Mack Brown definitely isn't a bad coach.

I still am not very happy or impressed with the Diaz hiring.

I think the hire is pathetic and lazy. I wanted an established HC and an offensive guy.
However, Diaz has the personality of charisma of a great head coach.
And although I think his defense is overrated, it's good enough to compete for national championships if it's paired with a great offense.

Will he send the whole offensive staff packing, though?
Does he have the balls to essentially say "Hey I know we've been grinding/coaching together for the last 3 years but yall boys gotta go."
I don't know. I don't know what his relationship is like with those coaches on the other side of the ball. For all we know, he may like them and be apart of the excuse train. ("Kids aren't executing.")
Yall are ASSUMING that Manny disapproves of the offensive staff and is going to clean house. We don't know that. I sure as **** hope so, though. I'm sure he's not a fan of having his defense on the field all game.

With that said...
When coaches get their first HC gig they often call on guys from their tree to join them. Sometimes new HC's like familiarity.

Let's talk Manny's tree. Who has he coached with over the years that has been good on offense? I'm genuinely asking because I don't know, but I'm betting that those will be some of his first phone calls. It's not always sure-fire but this may give us a good idea at who he may be targeting.
Has he worked with anybody in the past worth considering?

A good offensive staff can make Diaz successful here IMO.
This is Manny's 1 and only big shot to hit a grand slam as a HC...this is his dream job. There is no way Manny doesn't make bold moves with the offense and its staff. Manny knows what needs to be done and most definitely realizes that this current offensive staff, save maybe 1 or 2 coaches, need to go.
