Lets talk about the refs

I've seen O-linemen literally wrap-up and tackle our ends/tackles and no laundry anywhere. All you have to do is literally just record any ACC game and play back, just watching the lines.

I'd like to see a stat showing how many holding penalties our DL has drawn vs the national average. Feels like we never get holding called in our favor. Mind blowing that the team that leads the country in TFL is allegedly never being held.
 
If you watch enough Miami games you are left wondering exactly what a hold is. At this point I just don't know.

The fake punt call didn't end up costing us but it was infuriating. What's the point of instant replay if it is going to be completely useless? I am guessing Richt gets four "oopsies" from the ACC after sending them the video of the blown calls.

It cost us a lot of yards in field position. We would've had the ball inside their 40. That's on the cusp of FG range.
 
What you people don't seem to get is that we now have the talent to overcome the ACC bias, and we didn't have it before. Yes, it sucks but you need to be a better team to overcome it so you can compete for titles. We closer, just not there.
 
I've never seen anything as blatant as this year's fck jobs from the refs.

The overturn on that Carter tip pick never gets made against anyone else ever because there was nothing conclusive. That's the definition of inconclusive.

They didn't even bother looking at that fumble Corn scooped up.

Teams have figured out how to stop our pass rush completely ever since the UNC game. Just go ahead and blatantly hold on every pass.
 
I was in the stands for the UNC game, and I never re-watched it even though I had recorded it (too painful).

But I remember one specific play, I believe it was in the first half, when a D lineman from Miami had beat his man and was headed towards the QB, and the UNC OLineman ran up behind him wrapped his arms around him, and tackled him to the ground. The hold was so obvious, it was easy to see from the stands. Holds, most times, you don't actually see them from the stands. This one was so obvious you could. Everyone around me was groaning. And they never even came close to calling that. It is the worst most obvious hold I've ever seen. I wonder if anybody else remembers that one
 
It's comical watching a red come running in from 5 yards behind and spotting the ball 3 yards further than it should. Then that quick whistle on the Carter forced fumble. They **** near blew it dead before the guy hit the ground. Just ridiculous.

Home office for refs will get the calls. UNC and NC st get ACC calls like Bama in $EC!! I can assure you how many times Auburn has gotten screwed in the Iron bowl!!
 
I am as homer as they get but that wasn't an INT. Carter's foot was clearly out of bounds.

That said, overall we haven't been on the good side of calls all year. We did get a break on the clip.
 
Those refs that got suspended for blowing calls on the return for Duke broke the code....they are the real mvps
 
Bottom line: We need to take the game out of the officials' hands. That means bringing the 'A' game every time, and playing a crisp, disciplined game. Score every possession, eat up the clock, and have all three (O-D-ST) produce points or great field position.

It is then, that the stripes won't matter.
 
Carter was out of bounds.

Never saw a slow mo replay of the strip, but think his knee was down.

I do think the fake punt was short, but no good angle for it to be overturned

AR did get mugged in the endzone. Should have been PI

I was there and you're correct. Fake punt was short and they didn't overturn it. Int in end zone was not conclusive yet they overturned it. There was a few more plays that weren't quite as big but they missed them as well. Even the state fans around me agreed. Refs tried their damndest.
 
Sadly it's only going to get worse as we get better. Our only saving grace is Richt, he's a tough guy not to like, if we had an a-hole of a coach...look out.

We better be ready to annihilate Duke because the refs are going to ***** us royally.

It's every game.

On NC State's long pass play in the third quarter, Harris roasted the LT, only to get lassoed by the beaten Tackle on his way to the QB. No call. Ridiculous.
 
It looked like Carter's toe was on the stripe, though, so I get that reversal. But the holding was egregious. The refs have been that way since we joined. Remember the game vs UNC when Calais got a roughing the passer call without even touching the QB?

Ref blew the whistle unfortunate on the strip...quick call no less.

Carter's pick was the right call.

I felt that was a forced fumble by Jamal, I don't think that dude had his elbow or knee down...

& I think the tipped ball was a bad call too... I felt it was inconclusive to overturn the call on the field.

I think the Dayes called back TD on NCST was a makeup call for missing at least two blatant holds earlier on the drive.

Overall, I always feel the refs are against us in every game we play, even when we're at home...

It's always 12 on 11 out there for us, been that way since the Fiesta Bowl.

Denver beat the taints because of the same thing with white cleats on the sideline just the other week too. I guess "inconclusive" means open to North Carolina interpretation in this scum**** of a conference
