I cant sit here and say we "should be" as if it hasn't taken Mario and his crew some really hard work.

I guess your point about Heatherman was just to remind people that he's not a perfect DC, then, but you approve of him. Alrighty.

No one's necessarily right or wrong, I just think expectations are clearly different. We agree that the 2ndary hasnt been great, but you haven't stated the players that you are disappointed in in the secondary and expected more from this year.

Do you have any familiarity with them? Or did you naturally assume our trip to the title game last year gave us unbelievable depth at the CB,...which many consider the hardest position to play in FB?

Is it perfect no.. but they find a way to win. Just like last year in the playoffs it wasn’t perfect but they won

Heatherman has been great here. My point is less about him and more about the unfair amount of criticism Dawson receives

That's kinda just a namedrop tho. I posted a play that perhaps saved the game. Can you reply to it and why you're not impressed with the weight they seemed to pull on it? Or maybe there are some other plays or specifics you can get into outside of just naming someone?

It was a good play! I just want them to cover guys, not run into one another, no busted coverages, intercept balls, turn around when the ball is in the air, bat the ball down.

Almost 2 miracle hail mary's were caught on this secondary! Not to the mention one of the best passing games of Daniels this year! Daniels...passing! The shot to Robinson for 75 yard td when we were up 7.
 
I want them to be perfect too, but it's not gonna happen.

Lucas rated as "solid" vs. Stanford and is regaining his footing. EOC was a consensus 3 star player coming out of HS. No one ever envisioned a lockdown corner with him or anything. From then to where he is now, he's more than pulling his weight you could argue.

At the end of the day, you want more talent and more depth like every other team out there,...but that isint the kid's fault. Gonna have to disagree on them not pulling their weight.

On a weekend that a bunch of teams got upset I’m happy to get the WIN and move on.at the end of the day we beat our rivals under a little rain that maybe that affected the passing game a little.not making excuses I don’t think we played great but anyone has a bad day at the office and we got the win.
 
Every defensive back room in cfb can be had if your front 7 isn't getting to the passer......its that simple even in the league. No one was complaining about the secondary last season cause the DL helped put them in a great spot. There is talent in the defensive secondary the pressure and push has to be more violent but we dont have those edges we had last year and thats it. The OL has taken a step back thats true but relax man at least the team is good again. They can win it but they can lose as well

Mensah great but not as elite as we thought. A lot of wide open shots he never saw. Focuses on 1st read/Toney.

Dawson. Jekyll and Hyde. Running plays are horrible. Boring and predictable. A lot of WTF play calls. Does Mario and Mirabal have input??? We have all the weapons in the world. Lofton/Barkate need to be used more

Special teams...can we return a punt/kickoff for a td?! Can we block a kick/punt?!

I don’t know if Lucas is rusty, but those 2 reps he had were just bad. I’m looking at his technique, and it’s just all off.

I wonder if the CBs aren’t use to playing man, bc we don’t do it often. Thornton, we know what he is and the coaches put him in a position to do something that’s not his strength.

My guy...have you not caught on to the fact you can't have a non sunshine opinion here...ESPECIALLY when we win? It's like debating global warming. Wait until a loss to point out ****...so the same people can hit you over the head because " you're only saying that now because we loss".

The secondary is missing OJ and Brown, Lucas was playing in his 1st game back, Poyser ejected and Fitz and JJ banged up. People can never be happy.

The 1991 and 2001 teams both struggled to beat BC but we're all whining after an epic game where we had to dig deep and overcome a lot.

The team can play better, but I think they'll learn from it without taking an L like we may have in the past. Championships teams have to be able to win ugly sometimes.

It’s almost like many of the people on this board were in a bubble this weekend and completely missed the chaos all around the country on Saturday. I for one am grateful that we survived and advanced. As you say, sometimes games like this happen and it’s nice to still come out with a win.
