When we tossed the ball down field the DBs embarrassed our WRs. There was no PI just our WRS getting dominatedKing would toss the ball down field a lot more and we'd get more PIs. We weren't prepared and didn't respond well to Venables blitz man.
I'll look forward to the rematch.
I agree those stats are telling. I don’t agree those stats are something to take heed of.Man; King is an athlete. I’m not sure if I see a NFL caliber QB when he plays. He consistently misses on deep shots. But I see a good CFB QB.
My open concern w King was how will he fare playing P5 schools. UL & FSU were two P5 schools, but here’s reality:
So far we’ve faced UAB, UL, FSU, and now Clemson. As of 10/10/20, here’s the defensive rankings-
Total Defense:
UAB-19th (17th if not including the new G5 teams that played their first game yesterday)
UL-31st (29th if not..........)
FSU-49th (47th if not......)
Clemson-14th (12th if not......)
Passing Defense:
UAB-7th (5th if not.......)
UL-32nd (30th if not......)
FSU-54th (52nd if not.......)
Clemson-23rd (21st if not......)
So we’ve faced two top 25 defenses, and two defenses outside the top 25.
Here’s the stats for King when facing the top 25:
28/52 - 265 - 3 TDs (2 rushing/1 passing) - 2 ints
Here’s the stats for King when facing non top 25:
47/70 - 592 - 5 TDs (all passing) - 0 ints
Now it’s a small sample size, but it’s something we might want to take heed of. He has seemingly struggled or not been as dynamic when facing solid to good defense so.
We face a Pitt def who ranks 3rd in total def & 13th in passing def. I’m interested to see if this just a coincidence or a tell-tale sign to King’s & Lashlee’s ability as a play caller. We said Lashlee called a vanilla game against UAB, but we saw the same game against Clemson.
Just some observations we should take heed of and be aware of for both King & Lashlee.
Brooks should be used like K Mack! He’s a rush end. We got dudes playing out of position due to recruiting woesWe need better linebackers and wide receivers. Two positions that are extremely devoid of top talent. Brooks is being wasted.
I can see why you say that, however we have no choice but to acknowledge our shortcomings and get better. When we tossed the ball down field the DBs embarrassed our WRs. There was no PI just our WRS getting dominated
I admire your optimism but nothing from last nights game makes me think a rematch would be any different
Idk how that’s what you got from him. The game was too fast all other 10 players out there.. he was the only one who remained calm. He just played beneath his usual standard.I said the same thing in my head about King too. Just a different level than what he was used to playing. If he's the type of player I hope he is. Then I expect nothing but good things from here on out.
I will say some of yall need to stop with the Russell Wilson comparisons Russ is in a league of his own. King has the leadership that Russell has and more athletic ability but pocket presence arm strength QB IQ and accuracy not even close.
Remember NC State was **** and he was winning them games Wisconsin was just missing a QB and then he transferred there and wouldve been in contention for a title shot if it wasn't for a hail Mary by mich st
We should win out in my opinion " WE SHOULD" but hope for the best and prepare for the worse is all i can say from this point on
Sorry to rant @Rellyrell champagne n rolls got a brotha Twitter fingering like im rushing to turn in a mid exam paper![]()
Most of that was on King, who threw ****** balls all night long. When we tossed the ball down field the DBs embarrassed our WRs. There was no PI just our WRS getting dominated

King’s deep ball has been inconsistent all year. He’s missed them every game besides FSU. Hopefully he can clean it upMost of that was on King, who threw ****** balls all night long.
I'm sure we'll see it again, so []__[] have the remainder of the season to work the deep ball in practice and on Saturdays before a rematch with Clemson.
