Let’s not overreact

We looked lethargic early and gassed late. Effects of a short week after playing a super up tempo team? Lack of depth? I don’t think we went from “good” to “we suck” in one game but definitely disappointed.
Exactly. Yes, I have concern about the secondary. We need Brown back.

The DL play and LB play looked NOTHING like what we’ve seen the first 4 games. They looked tired and maybe a little full of themselves. I’ll wait to see if a pattern develops before I get concerned.

Defense played awful. The secondary was more of the same from the USF game, which is good reason for concern, but the DL and LB play was uncharacteristic relative to the first 4 games. Need to see a pattern develop before I get worried that our defense just sucks. We are also missing our best player on defense and our most talented CB.

Cam made a couple uncharacteristic mistakes but the offense overcame that and put up 508 yards and 38 points. This is despite missing our LT who is going to be playing in the NFL next year.

Every team struggles. Look at Georgia last week against a garbage Kentucky team. Is that what Georgia is? No.
This is CIS.

- Big Manny is back as Head Corch
- Dawson and Guidry couldn't even get volunteer corch jobs at Boys Club like Nix and D'No...get those two back ASAP
- Kirby Freeman QB1
- Bar Milo is LT
- Nothing but slow midgets at LB
- Lashlee has a much better roster at SMU
- Fold the program

I don't feel like I'm overreacting here, I just took my normal dose of estrogen and I feel fine.

Tell me I'm pretty.

The first half was similar to the USF game but USF was being held to field goals and VT was getting touchdowns

Our defense is a downhill defense. Teams like USF, VT, Louisville…those types are gonna give us problems because we can’t just attack

I think VT plays to the level of their competition. 2 3 point losses and a 4 point loss. Didn’t really pull away in their wins against lesser opponents.

It’s a talented team and that’s the best RB in the conference.

They just have a bozo at HC. That gets masked when you play your “Super Bowl” which is always Miami

I'm concerned about how both lines got pushed around, thw team was out physicaled pretty badly. I'm hoping that was an effort/scheme thing (wouldn't be great either) and not due to a true lack of physicality.

The greatest team ever, 2001 Miami, barely beat Boston College. The 2002 Ohio State Buckeyes barely beat crappy Cincinnati and Purdue teams. Etc. Etc.

This stuff always happens even to the eventual champions.
Good points but it's hard to see us going all the way with this Secondary. Now Harris is out in addition to Damari? Opposing OC's will be licking their chops.

Everyone clowning Miami because that VT team lost to Vandy.

Vandy took a top 10 Mizzou team to double OT one (1) week ago. At Missouri.

It’s college football. This **** happens. It’s what I tried to tell so many of you all week. Some dude on here said he’s not even gonna pay attention until we play Clemson in the ACC championship game. Did you just get dropped from outer space? Let’s act like we are 0.1% knowledgeable about the history of the game.

We played like **** last night, they played well (I’ve watched a lot of Drones, he made some insane plays last night he usually does not). And we were still the better team on the field over the full 60, and we won.

5-0 is 5-0. We’ve had 4 laughers and a close game. We were down 10 in the 4th quarter, with the ball, and our offense scored 2 TDs on 2 possessions. The sky isn’t falling. Do we have to play better and not turn the ball over 3 times? Of course. But this game isn’t an indicator for anything the rest of the season other than this sport is the ultimate chaos, always. Enjoy the ride.

Take away MIami's 3 turnovers and this game is probably
Miami 50-ish
VT 21-ish

Take away 1 or 2 of those turnovers and this game is probably
Miami 45-ish
VT 27-ish

It does highlight Miami's "go" goes through the offense right now....

If the offense fails to put up points, going to be ugly.

We were also missing a couple key players. Are there serious warning signs about our defense? Of course. Could Bain fix a lot of the issues? Of course.

My point is one game does not a season make. How we respond defensively versus Cal will be telling.
Brown too!

Happens to everyone. The fact that we scored 38 with 3 turnovers is very promising. 2 turnovers literally at our own end zone and 1 gave them great field position to begin with. Not to mention the return back to the red zone on the interception. Not to mention 1 turnover after a phantom hold that would have made the game 21-7 instead of 14-14. If it was 21-7 it probably turns into a blowout

I thought VT was the 2nd best team in the ACC at the beginning of the year. If we got their best game, playing at that level, turned it over and didn’t tackle, and still won… I’m here for it.

Georgia looked awful against Kentucky. Their D was good but offense was horrible. I’d rather have the offense that can bail out the defense 10 times out of 10 than the other way around where the D is doing all they can and the offense can’t win the game
Point proven. Could have been Ole Miss and then Michigan had a dud against Minnesota and almost lost.

No one chirping about that though

As am I. We are a finesse team overall. That said, Bain and Rivers are a force multiplier for the rest of the line.
