Defensive Coordinator of the Buffalo Bills. 62 years old and still hasn’t gotten another chance as a head coach in the NFL. Coordinators make between 1-2 million in the NFL so paying him 4-5 million would be very intriguing. Also can coach into his 70s if successful in the Miami area, also very intriguing. Ok flame me but a coordinator from the NFL is very doable monetarily if they are interested in coaching at the College level.

I'm not opposed to an NFL coordinator but I think when you're talking about guys that don't have any substantial real college experience on their resume and have been in the NFL for 20+ consecutive years that you're usually talking about guys that want to be career NFL guys.

Been coaching in the NFL for 20+ years and 60+ years old. I doubt he'd have the desire or the energy to enter the college football world again. He left it and never looked back. Some coaches just love football. And he seems like one of those.

College football coaches have to do so much more than just coach. Recruiting 365 days a year, fundraising, boosters, academics, compliance, now NIL, discipline, dealing with athletic director and administrators and trustees, dealing with and schmoozing parents. And then coaching on very shortened timelines/practice schedules because of school etc.

It's a unique profile of a coach to be able to do it all well.

Exactly. If Leslie saw a better opportunity in college (ie HC gig) vs where he's at now, it's likely come already and he'd have taken it. Some guys don't want to deal with the extra baggage that is CFB. In the NFL, you get to focus specifically on football and scouting. You don't have to deal with recruiting and boosters/politics.

Leslie was mediocrity defined as a HC, he's 60 years old and he's a defensive guy. If you are going to go to the NFL for a coordinator, give me someone young, someone dynamic and someone that is an offensive specialist. Give me a guy like Kellen Moore, who comes from that Boise coaching tree, give me Eric Bieniemy, someone that is going to be hungry as **** and has a chip on his shoulder. Outside of those two guys, or someone like Rhule deciding to bail on the NFL because they just don't think it's a good fit, I'm not interested.

Herm Edwards took this path at ASU. Wasn’t going to coach in the NFL anymore but wanted to be involved in football. Just a another route in finding a head coach
Herm Edwards is textbook mediocrity.

He played for the 85 Bears and I'm sure could instill toughness and a better defensive scheme I don't see him coaching college and recruiting at this stage he's been an NFL guy the last 20 years

As a Bears fan, Frazier has a soft spot in my heart since he was apart of the ‘85 Bears. But also as a Bears fan, it saddened me when he was fired from The Vikings as a HC. Y? B/c he was absolutely putrid as the coach, and I missed those days. (We were 6-2 while there.)

If he became coach here, I would be angry af!
