Les Miles

Les might not be lighting the world on fire right now, but he's one player away from doing so.....a QB. He's not THAT bad. LSU fans need to relax.

His offenses have been horrible. Cant explain this **** they have so many weapons.

For some reason they can't seem to recruit a quality qb. I guess Les doesn't put a premium on getting high caliber signal callers and that has come back to bite him in the *** numerous times.

Bc most of the best pro style recruits aren't kids who have handlers looking for handouts.

Exactly. The answer to that oh so puzzling question as to why the $EC is full of mediocre QB's. Funny how eSECpn never has the cojones to discuss that one honestly.

I like the guy. I understand the SEC is a scary conference for a newer Miami fan, but I remember when we would gang bang the whole SEC all by ourselves. Here is the thing, with the talent available in our back yard and the RIGHT coach, there is no reason to not be a top 5 team every year. So what if he can win a few extra games in the ACC. I understand college football has changed but when I look at the teams with one or two kids from Miami killing it then I know the key ingredient that made us successful is still "in Miami". We just need the coach, I mean does Alabama play in the same division? I remember them getting smoked by Ohio St last year? Who gives a shizzle what division you are in? What matters is that you have a coach that has and can maximize the talent that he has. Look at Saban, Harbaugh, Myer. My point about Les is that his talent is not lacking. I think we have 46 player active in NFL, LSU has 40. Same argument against Golden. Just not as wide of a gap. So many teams doing more with less, and we keep hiring coaches that cant even break even. Personally I think we could do better.

LSU has had just as much NFL talent than the Canes. If not a little more. Although they win most of their games and have been a better than average team, not enough coaching to get them to the Championship Game. I like the guy and over Golden and Shannon I would take him all day. Not now. We need to maximize the talent we have in South Florida and the Championships will come. With all the guys from LSU and Miami going to the NFL, due to coaching they both underachieve.

LSU also plays in by far the hardest division in all of college football. There schedule doesn't exactly match up to the Canes in terms of easiness.

The only time they have a great QB he's some obviously bought and paid for dude a la Cam. Andrew Luck wasn't looking to get his momma a house and his uncle a car. Look at the retards FSU has to recruit, despite cleaning up everywhere else. Bama lights the world on fire recruiting but is Jag-city at the QB position. Mostly just game managers with noodle arms from the deep south.

Get me a coach who is a QB developer. Not some "recruiting guru" who will be playing with the Treon Harris's of the world.

hey bro, this is what happens when the Canes have been down so long that fans are like "beating a ranked opponent" and "a top 10 preseason" poll would be "like the best thing ever". I dont know if you read the post or not because if you did i think the word you might of missed is "MAXIMIZE". Let me speak a little slower so you understand what I am trying to say. Right now Miami has 46 active players in the NFL. LSU and Alabama have 40 active players in the NFL. I think you would agree that Golden under performed his accumulated talent. I think you might also agree that Alabama is on par (golf term) with the talent that he has accumulated at Alabama. Les Miles is a coaching god compared to anything Miami has seen in 10 years or so. Don't get me wrong Les Miles would be an upgrade. I would say he is a little over par. So many college coaches are doing more with less. We need one of those guys. Our last two coaches cant even break even with the talent that they had. The perfect storm would be for the available top talent to stay home AND (very important) a coach that on most occasions gets more out of his players than less. In all this excitement of "preseason ranks" and "beating ranked teams", both of which Les Miles would most likely do. Forgive me if I want a little more. I wana go Happy Gilmore on the college football world again and the only way to do that is MAXIMIZING HOME TALENT. I don't think Les is the guys to do it.

idk about that bud. automatically getting a top 10 preseason ranking and playing "ranked "opponents sounds pretty sweet.
