Legit Question Re: Bowl Selection

Good. I am glad we actually have a winnable matchup and FSU will get embarrassed during the bowl game. Seems like we usually get matched up with Wisconsin or Cal and lose.

Simple geography, that's why. Nobody is going from S. FL to El Paso. Nobody is likely to go to Shreveport either, but it's much closer than El Paso.

How in the **** do we get shipped to the Tetanus Bowl in Sherveport against La Tech and a team we beat the ever-loving s*it out of gets a better bowl (Sun) against a decent ASU team??
We don’t deserve to be invited to a bowl let alone play in one. Would’ve rather the NCAA say no to us and say u get no money until ur program is great again. Then maybe our administration would give a **** about winning if the money wasn’t comingnin

Simple, Bowl Committee is hoping La Tech is not good enough to make the game a complete beat down of Manny so all three viewers and the two people in the stadium keep watching. Or, in case you haven't noticed we really sucked most of this year.

Because that has happened to someone in the past.

Ranking the 39 bowl games in 2019 from best to worst

35. Independence Bowl: Miami (6-6) vs. Louisiana Tech (9-3) — Dec. 26, 4 p.m. (ESPN)
Miami’s first season under Manny Diaz was all over the place. The Hurricanes started 2-3, won four of five and then were upset by FIU and Duke in their final two games. Now, to avoid a losing season, Miami has to go to Shreveport and beat a school where Diaz once served as defensive coordinator: Louisiana Tech.

El Piso knows from past experience, UM won't sell a lot of tickets. Maybe the Semiholes will send more people to the game, especially with their new coaching hire. Although he won't be coaching their team for this game, at least they have hope he will turn things around next year.

Walk-On's Independence Bowl: Louisiana Tech vs. Miami (Fla.)
i
i

(4 p.m. on ESPN at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana)
Miami fell apart down the stretch and seems in need of a reset. The Hurricanes also often don't get up for bowl games, dropping eight of their past nine, including a 35-3 no-show last year against Wisconsin. Louisiana Tech, meanwhile, will be motivated, playing before essentially a home crowd in Shreveport. The Bulldogs are a different team with J'Mar Smith at quarterback. Smith and running back Justin Henderson stand out for Skip Holtz's team.
Prediction: Louisiana Tech 35, Miami 24
