Lebatard's Incoherent Musings on Saban and QBs

I like Dan. I know many Cane fans don't but he's good in my book and quite frankly he wasn't off base in regards to this Hurricane team when we were 10-0. He also said we were ahead of schedule. Hopefully fat face is right from a Miami perspective.

By the way Dan is a master at pushing all the right buttons, he is DBC mixed with Ariz with a splash of Whooping. He knows what he's doing

I understand we all have to go to the dentist now and then, but why would you deliberately put yourself through the torture of listening to LeWindbag???

Does Lebetard think that Alabama's been recruiting five star players at every position but only pulling in two star players at QB all these years? The quarterbacks haven't been productive by design. Saban likes turning four star talents into game managers. I guarantee that next season that Tua kid puts up similar numbers to Hurts and Jake Coker and Greg McElroy and every single other Alabama QB during Saban's tenure. He only turns to his quarterback to make plays out of desperation.

Sports show commentary is not a science, if you're wrong you can live to see another day. Like many sports commentators Lebatard is getting more "style points" than scoring high technically. Yes, his comment about Saban getting all the QB's is hyperbolic, because he can't get all of them, just good ones. But as much as I and many others dislike the ****... he is and will be attracting top high school talent from around the country... that's not hyperbole.
I for one, will not tune in to Danny's show, I'm not a glutton for bull****t.

"Deep Thoughts by Dan LeBetard" are about as deep as a south Florida Walmart parking lot puddle in a summer sun shower.

You're putting WAAY too much thought into trying to decipher his logic. He literally came up with this line of discussion for his radio show while reading a comic book on the toilet for his morning ****.

If N’Kosi turns into the Next Deshaun, people are going to stop the Tua ******* gobbling around here.

Been avoiding this guy since he was Assistant Sports Editor of the Miami Hurricane Newspaper....bout 30 years now.

All of the built-in bias against him and whatever his history down here is aside, I find it most insulting how ill and under-informed the guy is. The last time I listened to him he was ranting about how Hard Rock was the worst college environment in the country- a clear example of him having not actually been to a Canes game in years. He must be watching them all over at Billy Cohen's place.....our two national "authorities" on Miami football....that strangely are never seen anywhere near.....actual Miami football.

He literally knows nothing about sports , he's more about fart comedy and race bating. Totally brings nothing to the table sports related.

Frenchie was supposed to be better than Winston at FSU. Hasn't quite worked out. Tua has had precisely one good game at the college level. Let's see what happens when coaches get film on him. The thing Saban hates in a QB is turnovers. Doesn't take much for a QB to believe in himself a little too much and force throws that result in INTs. That will get the phenom benched.

He's an entertainer. I'm ok with him. His statement about winning every year? Naaah. They are on a roll but winning the NC takes a lot of things falling in place. Sadly they Achieved something we coveted winning five ships in ten years. We need to grow up as a fan base. Quit ing about paid players etc. The Tide is on top now . We are in a group of maybe six schools that have a chance to compete with them over the next few years.

You do realize most of what he says is exaggerated and not meant to be taken seriously?

Nothing about that show is serious, and that's why I tune in every day.

It's a nice breath of fresh air compared to all the other mundane "hot take" BS programming ESPN puts out there.

Just appreciate it for what it is. Dan doesn't really give a sh*t about sports, even though he's made a career out of it.

Sure, satan is on a roll, not unlike belicheat and the pats, but it won't last forever. Lefattard's logic is not logical, so it's no use in trying to understand it. As far as Tua goes, the kid has talent for sure, but Ga didn't prepare for the kid, so they got caught off guard. The loss was totally on Ga. Satan was desperate, he had no other choice but to put in the freshman, they weren't winning with Hurt, and they got lucky. So how is satan a coaching genius?

Well...let's see...how is Saban a coaching genius?...could it be the 6 National Championships he has in his trophy case and was 3 seconds from winning a 7th?

If you watched the recent game against Georgia you witnessed one of the most remarkable feats in college football history. A true freshmen came off the bench in the second half of a National Championship Game, threw 3 touchdown passes, led his team to a come from behind victory and was nothing short of brilliant. In his interview after the game Tau, the true freshmen spoke about what he encountered and how he beat everything Georgia threw at him, which was everything they had! His description of the game sounded like a Heisman winning, 4 year starter. That speaks to the incredible coaching and preparation he had received.

Oh! And by the way...Nick Saban will win even more National Championships should he continue to coach the Tide.

Like Saban or hate Saban...he 's the best college football coach ever!

Lebatard made his bones visiously attacking the UM football program via the Miami Herald (the Herald has brutally and unfairly attacked the Canes for decades), which was red meat for the rest of the country...and he knew it!

His highly exaggerated articles did damage to the Canes program that to this very day they are paying for. This is not to say that much of what he wrote about was not factual, but his zeal to move his career up the ladder saw embellishment and half truths that were extraordinary. He owes everything he has to the University of Miami who has paid an enormous price for his success.

If Bill Gates bought a college and was told he had absolutely no limits on spending and virtually no oversight , how long do you think it would take to build a national championship caliber team? The correct answer is not long. For all intents and purposes, the boosters have given Saban an unlimited amount of money (to the point that ncaa is going to change rules because Bama can afford 60 assistant staffers, which is out of reach of most programs) , the NCAA won't dare touch him so no one looks into how a recruit's family ends up moving to Tuscaloosa and getting well paid jobs, and the refs give Bama the "Michael Jordan Rules." (proof is right there in UGA game).

He is the GOAT college coach like Bill Russell is the GOAT basketball player of all time with 11 rings. I actually have slightly more respect for Urban Meyer as a football coach than Saban, because UF actually has some budget limitations like the bulk of college programs (the state of Florida isn't writing blank checks). Saban can prove he's the best by succeeding in the NFL. JJ did it, proving he could beat professionals at an equal level. Saban flopped in his one attempt to go head to head with teams and professional coaches that have equal or better resources.

Coach that wins at college and NFL > coach that dominates college fb and is scared of NFL.

Well it’s kinda true. Tua is their first ever legit qb. All they were really missing under the Saban era was kicker and qb

Even if we're assuming that a half makes one "legit" this does nothing to explain Fatface's statement that NOW Saban will be getting ALL the QBs.

Pretty safe assumption given they spent so much money on moving the family, jobs, cars and placing his allegedly better little brother in a **** public school in Alabaster, AL.

Kid is the goods.

I'll never go as far as to respect anything about Urban Meyer, but another huge asset he doesn't have is being complicit as a head coach with Emmert as AD in allegedly covering up huge violations at LSU via "internal investigation." Sure, he gets away with murder in recruiting as well, but as long as crooked Emmert is around...only one coach has a free pass to do as he pleases.

You are right! But, Meyer's handler was Jeremy Foley who God only knows how many crimes and misdeeds that corrupt duo covered-up. In my view; Meyer is the worst possible comparison you could have used...he and his pal, Foley, make Saban's activities appear to be benign.

If it wasn't for UGA's Saunders being ridiculously dumb, people would be blaming Tua for losing the game because of that 16 yard sack he took. Kid might be the goods or he might fizzle out, it was one game.

The kid threw 3 touchdown passes, scrambled for critical 1st downs, was a field general and **** near won the game singlehandedly. It is laughable to think that had the sack you refer to not happened Tau's incredible performance would have been ignored. Further, after the sack the Bulldogs kicked a field goal.

I don't know why people say this is his first legit QB. Or that he will be getting all the QBs. Saban has been getting 4/5 star QBs for years. He just does nothing with them.
Tua 5*
Hurts 4*
Bateman 5*
Sims 5*
McCarron 4*
Developing QBs is clearly not Saban's strong suit. So miss me with yours and Lebetard's comments

Talking about the sack right before the game winning TD. That sack took them out of field goal territory basically. Also Kiffen and others said, if Saunders reads that play correctly and Tua throws that ball, it gets picked off and now we are talking about 2 TDs and 2ints with back to back horrible plays. Great game? Yeah for sure, but I'm not giving him the Heisman already.
