Leavitt

It would be a waste to throw a 4+ million bag at Leavitt just to attempt to squeeze out 10 wins next year (especially with his added injury concerns). Take a chance on the young guys at QB, and make sure to keep Toney locked in for 2026 and 2027. It was worth risking it with Beck this year since we had a roster that could compete, but next year we return almost no production outside of RB/DB/Toney.

Starting Emory next season would be a waste though. You have to start Nickel/Coleman and see what you have there, and that will guide the portal decision for the 2027 season. Going 8-4/9-3 with Emory vs 6-6/7-5 with Nickel for example does nothing for you.

The most disappointing thing so far this portal cycle has been the failure to get Perich and Biles, we really should have went all in on those two (and maybe we did but whiffed, hard to tell). This is lining up very similar to when UM basketball made the Final 4 and then couldn't capitalize.
We’re competing for natties now my guy..there’s no room for playing young guys who aren’t ready for the sake of development we aren’t in the business of wasting 8-4 seasons on that our window is NOW..unless one of those dudes look like Julian sayin or at least CJ Bailey level you go & can a guy who can lead us to the dance

Ahh **** I just seen who I replied to 🤦🏾‍♂️ I’ll never get those 50 secs back smh

He was a gamer against Clemson and FSU
I'd suggest you go back and rewatch those games. We beat Clemson in spite of him, not because of him. He made maybe 10 routine good throws and just as many that looked like they came off the hand of an eighth grader. Kid has heart no doubt but some of the balls he threw in games were just horrid..

I didn’t view those as being a gamer. I viewed that as a guy in a position he wasn’t ready for but he didn’t lose the game.
Do I think he is the answer? Not in any way. Do I want him starting next year or even playing. Absolutely not. I thought he should have transferred a couple years ago. He’s not a power 4 qb. Just saying he had a couple moments in games. Broke his arm for the team lol.

I’ve been saying that. Anything can change in an instant but is it okay now to begin the panic process? You can’t live off a magic trick every year.

However, maybe it’s still too soon to panic but this is still kind of worrisom

I would rather rock with nickel and or Coleman. If its a bad take ill eat it later.
That's not going to happen so you are safe

And should have had like 3 INTs in that FSU game, plus another 2 or 3 throws that ended up 4 yards behind the WR. He's a taller Spencer Whipple. He has no business ever seeing the field unless it's to hand the ball off or take a knee in garbage time.

I can’t believe I’ve missed how bad your football takes are on this board.
