Leavitt

My issue with injured portal QBs is missing spring practice. Beck said in an interview that because of the time he missed he was not comfortable in the offense until the SMU game. If you look at the early games of the season, the offense sputtered and looked out of sink often, in my opinion that’s a direct result of the starting QB not being comfortable in the offense.

I believe it’s too big of a risk to go 7 games with your starting QB not comfortable in your system. QBs need reps with their receivers especially in this offense. I pray Leavitt is cleared to throw by spring, even if it’s limited.

Fortunately Fletcher is coming back, so Miami can lean on the running game while Leavitt adjust to the system.

Good thing about this injury is(if there is a such thing), it's not his throwing arm. We can limit his mobility in practice and and can still sort of get timing down. Carson flat out couldn't throw.

Although I will add, Cam Newton had the same injury and was not the same after.

Cam had a rotator cuff tear that, IMO, was far more damaging for his career than the lisfranc.

Pats used him as a battering ram and he could still run and move very well. But his arm was completely shot.

Everything you said is speculation. This year we had a clear advantage on both lines of scrimmage on paper and in real games and in experience.

Next year we’ll see. On paper, sure but let’s see it in actual games.

I could see a step back but losing 3 or more is now unacceptable especially with another high end portal qb.
We have played some far more experienced teams this year. We have some older guys, but most of our guys are younger. It’s not “on paper” most of our young guys have hundreds of valuable snaps in big games this year to show they can ball out! Plus we are getting productive proven players in the portal. The riches we are building and enjoying— what other program in the ACC can even come close to?! Most of these teams are losing half their **** roster to bigger schools & would kill for our roster next season! We have like 5 returning 5 star guys on the d-line ALONE! An embarrassment of riches!

That’s sad. I guess if you make the night you’ll get to see I’m right down the road. Right now I’m focused on who the QB will be in 26. It won’t be either. Coleman has it! Guess we will see in the future
I was referring to JackMcJackass89's post. It had nothing to do with anything you said.

What if it's Rumspringa?

Because Simmons would be doing what Chambliss is doing. Not like he had Chambliss for years...Simmons beat out Chambliss and multiple other qbs out of Spring. lol

This is asinine...like saying Willis Mcgahee and Frank Gore was on the bench at Miami.
Nah. Simmons is not the qb Chambliss was. Not even close. It’s asinine to compare this to Miami’s running back situation with Willis. He was the underclassman waiting his turn. Chambliss is the upperclassman in his last year. A better comparison would be Mullen starting Franks over Trask. Then Trask proved he was better than Franks could ever possibly be. Only after he got hurt and Mullen didn’t have a choice but to play Trask.

You know people say that but wasn’t he older too obviously. I think age maybe had a play in it too. Just MO, leavitt young logic tell me his body can recover better.
