Next year we’ll see. On paper, sure but let’s see it in actual games.

I could see a step back but losing 3 or more is now unacceptable especially with another high end portal qb.

We’re not losing 3 next year regardless . One thing I noticed Mario stacked talent so It will be a reload year . We should be loaded in the trenches next year too . Bring in a few players we should be just as good as this team esp if Motten comes back

You keep bringing this up, but I stand by this. @UF, @UL and @Cuse were the only tough games last year. We probably go 8-4 with TVD instead of 10-2 with Cam. I am not saying we would have been better with TVD or KJ Jefferson but the schedule limited our floor last year. Now I may have been wrong about DJU specifically, since I learned after the season he was playing badly BEFORE he was injured and it wasn't his injury that caused the drop in his level to play.

My issue with injured portal QBs is missing spring practice. Beck said in an interview that because of the time he missed he was not comfortable in the offense until the SMU game. If you look at the early games of the season, the offense sputtered and looked out of sink often, in my opinion that’s a direct result of the starting QB not being comfortable in the offense.

I believe it’s too big of a risk to go 7 games with your starting QB not comfortable in your system. QBs need reps with their receivers especially in this offense. I pray Leavitt is cleared to throw by spring, even if it’s limited.

Fortunately Fletcher is coming back, so Miami can lean on the running game while Leavitt adjust to the system.

Beck’s arm still isn’t the same as it was before but he had a shoulder injury and it was later in the season

Leavitt injury should have him close to ready around spring time i think. Its a better timetable than becks injury
