Leavitt

I love the “He’s not worth x amount, I’d stop at x amount” in a world where there’s no salary cap.
There’s a market cap no matter what. Us and LSU obviously will pay higher than 99% of teams. At some point, a team will draw the line. I’d imagine it’s us first. Lane has more pressure than Mario rn.

To be fair, this is like saying your opinion of paying whatever is more correct. People should be allowed equal opinions.
Sure people are entitled to their opinion. But there’s no cap, no baseline, nothing and people just throw out “He’s not worth $x”. Like, based on what? It’s a free market economy, he’s worth whatever people will pay him.

Unless someone knows what our overall NIL budget looks like, saying someone isn’t worth a specific dollar amount is just arbitrary nonsense.

Why is the consensus that is Leavitt goes elsewhere there will be zero other options and staff will give up?

These portal threads really bring out the worst takes of CIS.

I hope Mario trusts his judgement and will drop this guy if he thinks he’s a red flag regardless of talent. I have an image of this guy and I’m personally hoping we drop his ***. But I trust Mario

I mean other than Leavitt, Raiola, and Longstreet

the best in the portal is Beau Pribula. At very least he's quite mobile. Hasn't been a horrible passer in his limited snaps.
Maybe you could still get a DJ Lagway or Deuce Knight.

Think like SJSU's Walker Eget is in portal still.

I agree with your argument, something is worth what someone is willing to pay. I sell sports cards and that market shifts every sale.

Me personally, I would hope we wouldnt spend that much on a qb when we paid our current qb 4 million and he's getting it done with 7 yard passes.

On the salary cap topic, it’s my opinion that this doesn’t need to be a program cap. This needs to be a per player cap. If you cap it that no player can make more than $2mil you won’t have players jumping for paydays if they are already at the max, you also won’t have issues like this where a player is using programs to up the payday. If he had all $2mil offers he would be forced to commit to a program and not a payday.

Dude, I have no idea what you do for a living but you clearly need to be running a CFB personnel department

I dont need to run a personnel department to understand the power of leverage. You would too if you stopped obsessing over other posts, and worked on some self/professional development . Read a book, take a class guy, instead of policing a message board looking for conflict.
