Le Batard and Corben are enemies of the program

Defamation. John Ruiz is not responsible for the violation, but that's how they are spinning it.

I know it's not popular sentiment on this board, but I don't have any issues with lebetard except for the fact that his shtick gets annoying.

Also, let's remove the blinders. John Ruiz has infused the program with money for NIL. But he has put a giant target on them also. There is no debating that. And, many of you might not like it, but he doesn't have the cleanest image or reputation around the area or legal field. Some of his risks have done well for him, but that's not always going to be the case.

Also, what would he sue them for?

Ruiz has not placed a target on UM's back. He's just throwing enough money around that the threat of UM being competitive again has our enemies' attention for the first time in nearly a decade. But, that target has been on UM's back since the mid-80s and it has never been removed.

I'm sorry, but nothing in lebatard's parody video or tweet would lead to an actionable case for defamation. Not on the regular standard, and much less so on the higher standard because Ruiz would easily be considered a public figure at this point.

Agreed, Miami has always had a target. But Ruiz has increased the size of that target or made the target easier to spot. There are multiple ways he could go about his NIL deals. He's very public, in people's face about it. That's fine if he wants to handle his business that way, but that brings extra scrutiny.

On LeBatard's streaming website, and on the Instagram share of that link, it states the following, in writing:

"John Ruiz managed to get the University of Miami women's basketball program on probation."

I know those weasels will say "it's only an opinion" and that it's allowed, despite being patently false, and potentially damaging to reputation as a result.

Mike Ryan, an otherwise great dude, should be both ashamed and criticized for being at minimum complicit as a major power player on a show that is facilitating and platforming Corben on this front. I'd celebrate Ruiz suing Corben, Lebatard personally and Meadowlark.

And if Mike wants to support "content" and opportunism over everything else then this fanbase should just deem him a thinner version of The Feast and may his hairline follow suit.

He's public about his deals because that is how he believes he can maximize the ROI of those deal for his own business interests. I'm fine with that because it is probably more sustainable long term. Yes, there are times I'd rather he say less and operate more behind the scenes like many other boosters, but it's ultimately his money and his business. And my opinion is UM is decidedly better off with him and his money than without it. That makes him an ally.

Regardless of the "size" or the "ease" of spotting the target on UM's back, I expect them to come from the NCAA and certain segments of the media. But, Le Batard seems to never miss an opportunity to take a shot as well. That makes him an enemy of the program and a turncoat. Period.

Lebaturd is the white ( well whiter) Uncle Puke….jumps on the bandwagon when it’s rolling along only to talk sHT about the program when it’s not…
Uncle Luke goes to football games and sells u m to kids to go to um....

lebatard cannot name a um football player in the last 5-10 years i bet....and he would admit that.

Lebatard is the biggest faker of them all...he ac tually has backers on the board..with Luke no one on the fan base doesnt have an issue with him save me and like 5 dudes lol

I get what everyone is saying but shouldn't Ruiz know policies regarding potential transfers? They only recently changed some rules on NIL.

And isn't he walking a fine line claiming not to be a Booster??

Any other business deal on the planet, the parties could meet up for dinner and the party actively courting the other party could pick up the tab. It seems a natural and normal part of NIL and I'm not sure why that business should be conducted in any other way among consenting adults. And the fact the NIL deal was actually executed here, strongly indicates the dinner was intended as just that -- an informal setting to conduct NIL (i.e., lawful) business.

If there were a bunch of NIL dinners and events, but nobody was actually signing NIL deal, I think a strong argument could be made NIL was being used as a pretext to hand out otherwise impermissible benefits. But that's not what happened here.

Again, understand all that but I believe the issue with this is that it happened before they enrolled at Miami and Ruiz should have known that before hosting dinner

These two clowns continue to go after our biggest benefactor, on air and social media, and we have a significant cadre of posters here who defend them. They blame Ruiz for the sanctions. I hope they both get sued.
Who defends LeBatard and Corben around here?

I believe a significantly large portion of porsters do not care for them.

Oh, and **** LeBatard and Corben. Dumb *****.
