Latrell Williams

Yatil Green and a couple players during the Coker or Shannon years who were not so productive...

Green ended up being a first-rounder to Tampa Bay, I believe...

Same school Tim Jernigan , Laremy Tunsil and Dequan "the legend" Ivery came from.

Yep , Yatil was one of my favorite players at UM. I saw him play in HS, dude was a stick back then .

Their big rival is Live Oak/ Suwannee , Kelly Jennings alma matre

Forgettable Miami Hurricanes George Timmons and Rashaun Jones. DBs from the Shannon era I believe.

I like the speed, but, there are a ton of very good wide outs in South Florida annually to be reaching on USF prospects. However, I do understand the new WR coach taking a guy he likes from his former gig.

I still don't understand why the Big 3 didn't recruit him? Is it grades or off the field issues?

I think he got him confused with Copeland or Lamar.

This is the type of speed the Canes used to be known for. We gotta get back to recruiting burners like Latrell.

I'll take this kid right now if he wants to commit. You can't teach speed like this kid has. If we want to start winning championships again, we need to get back to the moniker we invented, "speed kills."
Agreed we need to get back to being the fastest team on the field....

Yeah Vern, last few years under Alfraud our players for the most part looked like they were running in quicksand. Slow as fugg.

Only guys under the Alfraud regime that looked legit fast were Dorsett and Coley. That is embarrassing considering that we are the team that put speed on the map. We get elite speed all over this team along with competent coaching and we'll have a real chance to turn things around.

Waters and burns

And Al still managed to slow them down.

Yatil came to Miami during Erickson's years, but finished out his career under Butch...

The kid seems to possess that speed element. He definitely runs away from guys. But if you take a flyer here then why not the kid that decommited. He's fast as can be. Played better competition. Interesting... I guess we just hope the new WR coach knows what he's doing.

We have a staff I can trust at making player assessments. There are literally tons of receivers who make better players than many of the top guys. I bet no one here would have wanted the Baylor receivers a few recruiting cycles ago, but there are a lot of outstanding football players that aren't "your" guy. You sit at a desk all day, yet you know more about who to offer than our new "real" coaches? Go figure, Mr. Rivals who Bama offered jersey tucker.

I am a coach in Winter Park and we got a transfer from Lake City last year. He is only an 8th grader but he is close to 6 ft and 175lbs already. He is a diehard FSU fan which we would all have guessed but I am always talking Canes football with him. An interesting note is that he says his mom's sister/ his cousin is former canes player Cornileus, Tyrone. All he talks about is how great Trey Marshall is but I brought up Latrell Williams about 2 months ago to him and he said he is a Stud and that he is all FSU once they offer. Kid is rated one of the top 10 players as an 8th grader in Orange County... I'll be on him hard the next few years. Here are some of his pop warner highlights that he had me look at.
