I've been really busy since then but I recall he did have good numbers in HS and played a couple years at QB for Miami? Like I say, I haven't had time to obsess over stats in the last 15 years or so. It's all a bit fuzzy.

Per those same metrics I remember people jizzing over donofrios “top 10” defense but that didn’t tell the same story on the field.

Again what I saw on the defensive field of 2024 is the worst thing I’ve ever seen at the p4 level. Those numbers would be so much worse if our offense wasn’t efficient and kept our defense on the field.

I would’ve killed to have Anthony Chickillo, Rayshawn Jenkins, Tracy Howard, Denzel Perryman, Deon bush, Olson Pierre and Ladarius Gunter on the 2024 roster.

But keep posting chat gpt numbers and telling people they don’t know ball lol.

Coach O and his sons were around last year. You really think that O would jeopardize his final HC job with having Guidry on staff?
 
Man idk 2012 was bad bad at one point you had fentriss back there at safety if i recall correctly he was a LB at first. DL and S sucked *** us devantae freeman fsu 4th quarter ****ed me off running all over us..

We would play a solid 3 quarters then be gassed as the opposing team put on an extra gear their rocket boots and dust us.. Virginia North Carolina (butch duh gaaaaawd or larry fedora followed by the gio benard show left everybody extra dusty eating dust for like 200 yds 😭) Kansas State bill snyder collin klein went Ice Cube no vaseline before they dusted us with no remorse i think Norte Dame did as well in Chicago or it could of been 2013.

2024 DB's crushed us. Occasionally LB's but secondary more than anything.

Bro, Guidry is a respected coach. I know it didn't work out at Miami but he's still highly regarded especially as a secondary coach. He wouldn't have landed at LSU so quickly if he wasn't respected. Furthermore, Coach O and Guidry go way back. It's a Louisiana thing with them. They go back decades before Guidry ever coached at Miami.

Our CB room is legit and will allow us to load the box. Carr is going to have to beat us. I wouldn’t bet on that.

I think that it wasn’t so much the numbers for last year but how bad it looked. I’ve never seen defense like last year that struggled to handle a simple motion by a slot receiver. Jaden Harris’ really bad pursuit angles. I think if you adjust for Power 5 opponents, no FCS or Group of 5 teams, it looks really bad. Teams that wanted to pass against the defense just motioned the DB out of position and when a team like Georgia Tech wanted to control the ball on the ground they did so at will

GT you played a team knowing the QB couldn't throw the ball. We couldn't stop them. They ran through us. Our DL couldn't contain the edge, motion got them out of position. That was a poorly coached team.
