The Athletic just announced Dykes to TCU for their sources, so all seems legit. SMU tried to throw a ton of $$ at him but TCU won out.

Some people are forgetting the 3 straight runs and running on third and 8 plus in the beginning of the season. Won’t even get into the 3rd/4th and 1 play calls

SMU hired someone they were familiar with sounds kinda like what we did with Manny. With that said if we are losing position coaches to SMU without proportion it means manny is done.

This has been in the works all season. It was a given lashlee was gone at the end of the year. Simply to where.

Not really surprised by lashlee leaving. Feel like people have been saying he wanted to be a head coach since he got here. Just trying to give everyone more logical hope manny is definitely gone if our position coaches are following.

Agree with you that he is a run first coach and was put in a situation where he couldn’t coach like that anymore. Happy he realized he didn’t have to be so stubborn, but it only took him half the season.

The last time Lashlee was OC for SMU, they rushed for 2,351 total yards.

Their trio of RB’s were:
- Xavier Jones who rushed 1,276yds & 23TD’s
- Ke’Mon Freeman who rushed for 517yds & 5TD’s
- TJ McDaniel who rushed for 236yds & 3TD’s off just 41 carries

Maybe the issue with the run game wasn’t just Lashlee, maybe our OL just isn’t that good at run blocking

It got tremendously better with Jakai at center. Can’t wait to get Jalen back and hopefully we can bring in Dunlap. We got a chance to field a really good OL next year if that happens.

Imo Dykes made a mistake. The SMU job is better than TCU. Dallas area, big donors, and Preston Stone in the wings. SMU is a great gig right now.

Lashlee did good work here.
Folks bashing him because of the bad running game are clueless...probably same folks who thought Jeff Stoutland was not a good coach.
