I don't think he was overrated as a TE coach. He was a good TE coach, look at the development Walford made, Herndon and Njoku were coming on this season.

I was a fan of Coach Scott.

Did a good job after Golden left, and the TE's played/were coached at a high level under his tutelage

I liked Scott and I know the players did, too. Very odd that he would leave unless he didn't feel he had security here long term.

EDIT - Now that I think about it, if I were "promoted" into a senior leadership role at my job, and then they found a replacement, I'm not sure I'd be ok with being demoted back to my original position again, especially if I did a pretty decent job in the interim.

Good luck to him either way - he made moderately happy to watch UM football for the first time in quite a while.

Wanted badly so much that they low balled him and Tenn offered more.

Scott was the only guy from the previous regime I wouldn't have been disappointed in retaining. It still isn't anything to freak out over in the grand scheme of things.

I still LOL at the fact Scott beat a ranked team on the road at night in his first game. Folden couldn't get this done in 4+ years.
 
After watching that recruiting video where he was ejecting microscopic Onofrio's from his mouth every time it opened I am ok with this.

Exactly. If we don't hire the best in the business right now we're totally screwed.

I know its the only way we have ever won a title here.
 
If your upset just replay that half back pass and then watch Scott say it was the right play we just didn't execute.
 
I think it would be hard to stay in a place you led and then be demoted back down even though hiring Richt is understandable. I hope we get a good coach here. We'll be fine.
