Larry Scott Staying

Retaining Scott could also be the beginnings of a mutiny.

How many players you think will be huddled in his office for post-practice hugs after they find out Richt unplugged the bounce house? I am against keeping any coach who was a pupil in the school of Al Golden.

You're just letting that daycare mentality linger around your program. After he became the interim HC, Scott said it's not about wins and losses it's about taking care of the kids emotions and feelings.

He should've had a dlck hanging out of the corner of his mouth like a cigarette when he said that shlt.

Urban let Adam Sandler stick around and be Co-DC.

Richt ain't concerned with Scott. You see how quickly he got in line with D'Onofrio in that video?

Scott will get in line.

No it wouldn't be a mutiny. Larry Scott is a foot soldier or in other words a yes man. He will follow anything richt puts in place just like he did with golden.

If true i a am happy for coach Scott his position group played well this year. He be able to learn from coach Richt, and be purged from that golden stench.

Disappointing. Should be a complete wash out. Great way for those who don't want to work hard to try to split the staff and cause problems. Scott seems primed for that role with the Golden catchphrases and slogans everywhere. I'm willing to bet Richt is able to slap that down without a problem though, so whatever.

If this happens, and I don't think it will, then Mark richt wasn't the right man for the job. Urban retained OSU's mediocre DC and had no problems changing the culture at OSU.

so if scott is retained? then Richt isn’t the right coach for Miami? smh

should if we hired cristobal and he fired everyone would that make him the right hire?

I agree it shouldn’t be as OL coach but that isn’t confirmed yet. I agree with assistant HC though. I think Scott is being retained more for the current players than anything else

This analysis doesn't make sense.

Urban Meyer retains Luke Fickell = No problems changing culture.

Mark Richt retains Larry Scott = Mark Richt isn't the man for the job?

Give CMR a bit more credit then that joke of a coach we last fired mid-season. He's being doing it longer and at a higher and more consistent level than Golden.

Completely fine with Scott staying. Liked him at USF, one of the few relatively accomplished coaches Golden hired into the program. TE has had studs for two consecutive years. This isn't a pity hire.

Now, if he's coaching OL? I got quezzions.

Bad idea. Everything he said reeked of Folden facgitry, and to see him choking on donofrio's salsicca in that recruiting video was sickening. At this point, I want none of those infected turds around the program.

This is where a certain positions corch at Alabamy that is deficient in loyalty would have probably gotten an "OC/AHC" title here under Richt, a raise to a couple hundred k more than what he's making under Lil Nicky and a clearer path to a HC job if he hadn't fled 48 seconds after being hired.

You only have 9 assistants on staff so if you coach ST then you are also a position coach. If DC works with secondary he could be Safety coach.

DC/CB - ?
DL - Kuligowski
LB - ?
ST/S - Hartley

It's funny that people are judging Scott's ability to coach TE's based on what he did as interim head coaches. Our TE's have been developing we'll under Scott

I too became a proponent of a full purge but if this is the lone holdover then it's the most innocuous when you factor in that Scott did a decent job with the job he was actually hired to do. Even if you disagree with that you still have to have faith in a 90+% Richt crafted staff of newcomers to cleanse any bad personality traits or phony leadership qualities that Larry may have picked up from Golden. Scott strikes me as a company man when it comes to the big picture so he should adapt quickly to the new demeanor of the new regime.
