Lanorris Sellers to the U next year?

Highest ceiling of anyone imo. Give him a pass on some stuff as he’s a True Freshman
Agreed.

I'm a Cal alumni, and watch most of their games. He's had a great season for a Freshman. Hit a little wall around game 4-6 (he was BAD against SDSU, mostly just trying to play hero ball, and being careless/pre determined).

Cal's OL is terrible, and he's under constant duress with really limited playmakers on the outside. Watch the VT replay (and obviously UL) to get a sense of his composure and obvious arm talent.

I've just been so impressed by his poise under pressure, ability to hit receivers in stride, and fit in tight windows.

Cal is slowly getting their act together as an Athletic Dept., and will likely do what they can NIL wise to try to keep him. They won't have enough resources to build around him quickly (it's a multi year rebuild in the trenches, with a lot of help needed at receiver), so I'd be all in on JKS if he's an option.

This, this, and this.

I can’t pronounce or spell his name, but yeah. The kid from Cal. Finally watched him against Louisville. He has a very live arm, throws darts, and seems to make good decisions. And he’s only a freshman.

He’s #1 on my portal QB list.
He gets the ball out quick too

Bailey seems to be this year's version of who we're all expecting it to be until proven otherwise.

It'd be hard for me to no to say Mensah though. He's been pretty **** good.

Who would you rather have with in their retread prove it year? Nico Iamaleava or LaNorris Sellers?

What you saw is basically what Sorsby is: good mobility, bad passer. He would be way down on my list and certainly not worth big money. He did not even beat out Tayven Jackson coming out of camp in Allen's final year and only ended up getting on the field because Jackson was struggling. He was entertaining NIL offers during the season and Cignetti made zero effort to get him back out of the portal.

I think you are sorsby mistaken (see what I did there?). He is an elite college qb. While I would like to see him with a higher completion percentage, the thing that makes him stand out is that he more than makes up for any passing deficiencies with his legs. First- and by far the most important- he does not turn the ball over. 21 tds 2 ints. Second, this season he seems to have figured out how to feel pressure and avoid getting sacks. Only sacked 2 times. He can run for first downs when chased - 458 yards rushing, 8 TDs. That’s winning football for Cristobal- qb that rarely, if ever, makes negative plays. Doesn’t turn ball over, can buy time, scares a defense with his legs so they have to spy him. It greatly expands the playbook.

Who cares that he couldn’t beat our so and so in camp. That’s why games matter. Countless QBs were buried on depth charts, then got better as they got more reps and opportunities. Remember when Mendoza was just a “mediocre QB on a bad team who no one would talk about if he wasn’t Cuban” and who couldn’t offers from big time football programs? You have to see the skillset. I see it with Sorsby, I think has Josh Allen abilities.

fwiw Allen couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn his 1st two nfl seasons and had a 56% career completion in college. He credits working with Ken Dorsey as a big reason for his success, and guess who might be available as OC if Dawson leaves?

Good one! I respect your opinion and the support you gave for it. I don't see him the same way, but I could be wrong. I was all about Mendoza though and posted that multiple times here when that was not the most popular opinion as you mentioned.

I would say Nico. Has shown more as a passer. I’d rather have a passer who can scamper than a runner who can throw. But I will say Sellers has the edge on character, not that Nico is a negative but I think everyone would agree he was able to be manipulated during the portal fiasco.

JKS/UNT kid

Mobility is great if ya got it, but JKS’ ability is special IMO that I’m willing to sacrifice it for his pure passing ability. He is slow as molasses, but that pinpoint accuracy and poise as an 18 year old separates him. God bless it for Oregon not keeping this kid because good night if they did.

I know nothing about these kids situation, but with the schools and attention that will inevitably come after them both starting next month, I can’t see them staying at their respective schools. It will be such a huge opportunity for them both to level up. Make it happen.

Thanks for the response. Just haven’t caught many Cincinnati games.

LOL... I'd take any QB that the Cat From North Texas' Coaches.. Eric Morris can identify and coach up some QBs..

They'd be at top for me out of 2 year options. I could see it making some sense to go with like a Leavitt type if he enters. But I'd prefer either of those two and have been on that for weeks now.
