Lanorris Sellers to the U next year?

What are you trying to suggest? Are you suggesting Sellers is the next Cam Ward?
Nope.. just saying there was a whole lot of questions about Cam, and the talent around him.. but many agreed there was something potentially special there.

Feels pretty similar from when Cam first popped up on here.

As someone who knew nothing about Cam before he came here.. and this dude, I’m at least happy to hear a lot of the good things folks were saying about Cam, I’m hearing with him too.

Sellers main issue is that he is bad at hitting wide open WRs. A lot different from the questions about Cam at Wazzu. See some of the clips @TwentySix posted. He's not really being pressured in most of them. He just misses, often by a lot.

Tbf, Mario did pretty well with a historically inaccurate but athletic QB in Anthony Brown in '21. We'd definitely be able to run the ball well again if Sellers came here.

As someone that watched a lot of Cam at WSU, I had a very good feeling about Cam because he has always been a magician.

I have watched about 6 games of Sellers and I see a phenomenal athlete that is an average QB.

Like I said to another poster, people overvalue mobility in a QB. If given the choice between a QB that had Ward’s abilities with Peyton Manning’s athleticism vs Sellers, they would take Sellers without a 2nd thought.

The justification would be “yea but he’s so fast and has potential for days.” While that is true it does not change the fact they often do not live up to their potential. There is a long list of HCs and GMs that have lost their jobs betting they could turn a Anthony Richardsons into Cam Ward instead of picking Ward himself who has proven production at every level.

Sellers 24
61st in EPA/DB
79th in Pass Success Rate
70.6 grade, 16 BTT (4.9%), 19 TWP (4.6%), 8.8 ADOT, 74.6% AdjComp%, 10.1% P2S%, 3.30s TTT, 45.7% 1st/Dropback.

He was also quite bad under pressure last year.
Also had 11 fumbles and 7 INTs.... And has 5 each so far this yr.

He has potential, but he has never shown some great passing ability or big play ability that isn't completely offset by his turnovers....
Weird how this doesn’t have any responses.

Because people have addressed it. Their OL is literally one of the worst of the country. And they have no running game. And his best receiver can't remember the plays. You have to explain why his numbers were so much better last year.

Mel Kiper has addressed it. First round NFL QB. And Mel is NEVER wrong.

People think every athletic qb can learn to be a good passer, or every qb playing behind a bad oline is way more than the stats say. Same **** people tried to do with Milroe before they actually watched him against Michigan.

You could throw on Ward’s tape at Wazzu and see the passing ability despite the bad offensive line. Sellers can’t ******* throw the ball. I couldn’t care less if his stats are good or bad, watch him play.
Well the QB we have now can’t pass or have the athleticism lol

Anthony Brown had a better year in 21 than Sellers is currently having bymost metrics lol.... which is not a good thing.
People need to just get on board with the fact that if you're getting a Qb from the portal you don't want a guy who has a worse year the older he gets. We can all make excuses like we have for Beck, but you want a guy that is getting better and better yearly and with more experience. OR At least you get the guy the year AFTER he has that downturn then recovers.

Like I said Sellers imo has done NOTHING aside from being better built (mostly a NFL attribute) than Demond Williams. And all signs are pointing to Fisch wanting out of Washington. Sure I'd say it's probably likely if Fisch went to UF, he'd probably follow, but who knows. UF has a lot invested in Lagway.

Anthony Brown had a better year in 21 than Sellers is currently having by just about every single metric.... which is not a good thing.
Yes I understand that. I was comparing Brown at BC to Sellers at USCe
