Lane...

The Lane haters always claiming It would be so dumb but based off of what? Dude was hired to coach the Raiders at age 31. THE RAIDERS! With Al Davis's micromanaging ***. Anybody would've been doomed for failure. Especially a young talent unwilling to be somebody's puppet. Only allowed one and a quarter season to prove himself after falling out of favor with Al Davis, just like almost every coach he hired. People forget Davis traded Gruden. Lane was successful at TN. Their record improved and the fans were ****ed when he threw the deuces. But if your dream job become available, wouldn't you take it? Then when he coached at USC, they were on probation. Seasons with 70 or less players instead of 85. Top players leaving like free agency, but still no losing season. Young talent with no depth.

It's a reason that he has been offered top jobs at such a young age, the dude is talented. He made some bad decisions, which most young people do which put him in positions that were difficult to be successful in. He should've stayed at Tn. He learned from some of the best, Carroll and Saban. He has a large amount of experience and he ain't even 40 yet. Everybody knows he's in a league of his own coaching offense, he's a beast recruiter and he hires an elite staff. He would kill in Miami.

Every time Kiffin's name gets brought up, people always give excuses of why he was mediocre/bad at every stop.

Tell me why he's good. Don't tell me why is ****** record isn't bad.

Kiffin's tenure at USC is difficult to assess since he lost 30 scholarships in his first three years, much more than Golden lost. He was fired at the beginning of his fourth year. His stay in Tennessee was too short to assess. He had a prior connection with USC and jumped at the chance to return. Really, who expects loyalty today? (I wish Golden were less loyal to Dorito) I would not be surprised if his Tennessee contract contained a clause about leaving for USC. In any case, Butch is the man if he wants the job. But, are we sure he wants to coach? There have been openings since he lost the UNC job. Stoops would also be good. Biggest problem is not finding a decent coach. It's an administration that will not move when it should.

Why is hard to understand that he is a good OC but not a HC. He is an immature, pompous, arrogant little prick. He has been that way his whole life. He feels entitled cause of his dad. He is not a CEO type. I know people that worked for the jags and Kiffin worked there. He was in his twenties and everyone hated him. Hasn't changed a lick

So are a lot of posters on here so should be a good mesh.

Set aside for a minute the "Lane Kiffin sucks as a head coach" thing. You're still left with the "Lane Kiffin has tons of institutional baggage" as a reason not to hire him.

The only reason anyone EVER cites for not rehiring Butch Davis is the unwillingness to look past the institutional baggage.

So if the U is going to get over their problem with coaches who cause the occasional trouble, they should do it for a coach with far, far more demonstrated upside potential. (This is the part where we bring back the "Lane Kiffin sucks as a head coach" thing.)

The thing I don't understand is why people feel he's a bad coach? People say. he lose everywhere, but his record prove otherwise. Keep hearing that he's arrogant, who cares. Kobe arrogant as *****, but he still one of the greatest of all time. The Miami teams in the past were unliked because they were arrogant, confident and entitled. Miami needs a ****y prick that's confident in his abilities rather than some guy that's accepting of mediocrity. People say he don't know how to be a CEO but one of the things he was praised for was his ability to put together a good staff. Orgeron was hired by Lane.

Just put it like this, forget that he's Kiffin.....You have the opportunity to hire an offensive guru, that's a beast recruiter with head coaching experience in the NFL, SEC, Pac12, was mentored by Carroll and Saban, is not yet 40 and just happens to be confident as *****. Would you not want that guy to coach Miami?

You can dress it up all you want, but Lane Kiffin as a head coach is, at best, unproven, and, at worst, bad.

Kiffin might be a slight upgrade over Golden, but he's never won a bowl game or his conference.

Miami football deserves better and can do better than Golden or Kiffin.

I'm with you. I think Lane has all the talent in the world. He may not have been ready to be a head coach in the past but he's very young for most head coaches. I think being Saban's number #2 guy will teach him a ton and help him turn the corner.

It feels like the powers that be are trying to shill us toward Qiffin.

He's a corch.

FVCK LANE QIFFIN!!!!!!!!!

Dude would lock down South Florida and **** would be entertaining as **** but he would fizzle out in a year or two because he just isn't HC material.

For Alabama, which is almost equal to being a head coach anywhere else. Everybody know Saban pretty much groom future head coaches. Kiffin being one that has already experienced alot and got all the new coach mistakes out of his system. I've provided many reasons why Kiffin would be a perfect fit. Fans keep saying that he would be a bad fit but don't really provide any reason why. Just say he is a pompous prick based on interaction when he was in his twenties. Saying he's a bad HC, but not really providing any reasons why. Saying he failed everywhere he coached but actually the only place he had a losing record at was the Raiders, in his first season. Can somebody really give a good reason why he wouldn't be a great hire rather than just saying he's bad? Actually don't worry about, i'm sure just like with every other subject a year from now people are going to be speaking a different tone.
