My guess is he's one of the highest non-P5 coaches in the country now and he's got a very team friendly buyout if they fire him and a very solid buyout if he leaves for a major job.

Exactly. It's almost a meaningless deal on FAU's end unless that buyout is at least $5 mil+ if he decides to bolt in the next 2 years. It's a nice press release before their bowl though and gives Lil Kiff some job security if the wheels fall off but it probably won't keep him in sunny Boca a minute more if a power 5 conf team (excluding a Rutgers type) ever comes a calling.
