Lane has had TWO 5 loss seasons as head coach of Ole Miss and this is his 4th year there. His only season at Tennessee he went 7-6, at USC he had a 5 and 6 loss season and didn’t make through his 4th year.

Why does the board treat him like Saban 2.0? He is the definition of a mediocre coach.

Lol you really gonna count his 1st year during covid when he was just hired and had NO spring practice. Nice. That’s fine. Mario had 7 losses with the benefit of no covid restrictions and a full spring. The next year Lane won 10. Last year depth caught up to him. They were 7-1 until it all caught up. Third straight year they’ve been 7-1 which is the first in program history and they’re doing it in the mighty SEC West.

Lane is also a dumbass. Plays like that will be why he never wins big and consistent. Going for 2 early in the game. Like why do that?

Also it’s not good that one of Miamis WR is getting to watch a fun offense like this.

Provided they hold on today, he’s about to snag his second 10-win season at Ole Miss in four seasons.

That’s as many as Mario has in his head coaching career, also done in a weaker conference. Kiffin has 4 10-win seasons entering today, could get a 5th. He’s done it at three programs and gotten better at FAU and now Ole Miss, an upward trajectory.

If he’s mediocre, then your standards are at ridiculous levels.
