To me it's not about comparing Ole Miss to LSU in terms of what they could be.

It's comparing Ole Miss to LSU in terms of what they currently are, and what Kiffin has achieved there (apparently pulling his life back together). He was a great fit for Ole Miss - he could be his kookie self and win ten games with zero pressure.

Right now, LSU is a dumpster fire: no AD, the f'in Governor getting involved, the former HC suing them and sky high expectations.

I hope Kiffin crashes and burns under the ridiculous expectations in Baton Rouge - it's what he deserves after this stunt.

Lane is a good Xs and Os coach, but he’s not won anything and this year he beat 1 SEC team with a winning conference record and 2 P4 teams total with winning records.

UK 5-7 (won by 7)

Arkansas 2-10 (won by 6)

LSU 7-5 (won by 5)

Wash State 6-6 (won by 3)

OU 10-2 (won by 8)

SCe 4-8 (won by 16)

Florida 4-8 (won by 10)

MSU 5-7 (won by 19)

We have no AD, Governor posting about our playoff birth and have had former HC sue us more than once...

Being the most sought after coach in the country and getting poached by a top program is a stunt anymore than leaving Oregon?

Like everything - he got too comfortable being a sleazebag. When you're winning the institution (especially in those tiny college towns) works to sweep that under the rug.

All bets are off when you turn on them though - the truth comes out then.

100%. He spent 6 years at Ole Miss and had the opportunity to level up and did. The LSU chapter of his career starts today. Just Win.

He’s at Ole Miss. It’s almost the equivalent of the mob punishing Nicky Scarfo by exiling him to Atlantic City in the early 70’s. If he’s going to leave, he has a right to take the best opportunity he can, regardless of where it’s at. Ridiculous to think he should preclude all SEC teams from hiring him. Ole Miss also has a right to tell him to leave immediately. I don’t know what to think of that. It won’t help them in the post-season games but he’s also handling it like a petulant child. There’s a lot of parts involved.

I think he did the right thing offering to stay through the playoffs and Ole Miss made their decision and told him to leave immediately so that’s on them. His reaction is childish but so is theirs but I don’t know all the details of what was said so all I know is he took a better job opportunity and offered to finish out his shift and they kicked him out.

It’s not absurd to ask in my opinion. It was the right thing to do as they have a playoff birth and he’s offering to complete the season. The petulant response is another thing though.
