Lane is a savage

I mean this as a genuine question and am fully aware of Kiffin’s past and the reputation he has but …what about this is different than any other coach taking a new job? I’m a little confused by the reaction to this? Seems like people are just having fun getting high and mighty on Lane because of his past.
He’s quitting right before a playoff run.

Name the last time a college football head coach quit on a playoff team right before the playoffs start.

And no, this is not the same as coaches quitting before minor bowl games.

Meyer. Only difference is he was allowed to coach his team in the bowl (before the playoff era). Lane wanted to do the same and Ole Miss said no.

Lane will be back unemployed after 3 seasons at LSU!
He is too full of himself… LSU and those boosters will tame him quickly!

Some folks will chase money and status over their own happiness!

He should have Stayed at ole miss and continue to over play the expectations there.

No, Kiffen broke the contract
Isn't there a buyout agreement that allows him to leave?
None of this really is Lane's or Ole Miss fault. The timing of the portal and early HS signing day causes everyone to act quickly and not be able to wait for the season to end. Those things should be pushed back until after their precious playoff so that they avoid all this mess.

Why? How can you say that if they are down their star HC, whole offensive staff, and star players? It is not the same team and will make for bad TV.
Brother, with all due respect, now the stipulations have changed. Now it’s Ole Miss is without “Kiffin, the whole staff and star players”. That’s a major hypothetical. If Kiffin doesn’t coach AND the “whole offensive staff” AND “star players” [im assuming Chambliss and Lacy among them] then yes that’s quite a different scenario than what Ole Miss is currently at.

Currently, Ole Miss is only without Kiffin and IF THAT remains the scenario, Ole Miss should play in the CFP.

Are you talking about when he was at Utah and went across the country to Florida? IMO it’s a bit different as it was just the Fiesta Bowl and they were nowhere close to rivals.

For the Kiffin Kucks, try this perspective.

A major corporation is having their best year ever. The key executive who is mostly responsible for this success is going to leave right before the most profitable 4th quarter of the year. And leave for a rival corporation. He offers to stay on through the remainder of the year, but still wants the ability to leave, along with a good number of other key personnel, taking them to the rival company.

Would you seriously expect the Board of Directors to agree?
