Makes perfect sense to me.
He’s quitting right before a playoff run.I mean this as a genuine question and am fully aware of Kiffin’s past and the reputation he has but …what about this is different than any other coach taking a new job? I’m a little confused by the reaction to this? Seems like people are just having fun getting high and mighty on Lane because of his past.
I agree they get special treatment, but I want to see what the official line is from the committee. It will happen again and when it does that will be different because it won’t be the sec
No, Kiffen broke the contractDidn’t he offer Ole Miss to stay and coach through it and they said no?
The whole system just sucks. Needs to be a hiring period that only starts after the season ends.
Meyer. Only difference is he was allowed to coach his team in the bowl (before the playoff era). Lane wanted to do the same and Ole Miss said no.He’s quitting right before a playoff run.
Name the last time a college football head coach quit on a playoff team right before the playoffs start.
And no, this is not the same as coaches quitting before minor bowl games.
Only because it’s drying up. They said three weeks ago they would waitNot true. LSU would never wait until the end of the playoffs to hire a new coach.
Show me that source, please.Only because it’s drying up. They said three weeks ago they would wait
Isn't there a buyout agreement that allows him to leave? No, Kiffen broke the contract
Brother, with all due respect, now the stipulations have changed. Now it’s Ole Miss is without “Kiffin, the whole staff and star players”. That’s a major hypothetical. If Kiffin doesn’t coach AND the “whole offensive staff” AND “star players” [im assuming Chambliss and Lacy among them] then yes that’s quite a different scenario than what Ole Miss is currently at.Why? How can you say that if they are down their star HC, whole offensive staff, and star players? It is not the same team and will make for bad TV.
Are you talking about when he was at Utah and went across the country to Florida? IMO it’s a bit different as it was just the Fiesta Bowl and they were nowhere close to rivals.Meyer. Only difference is he was allowed to coach his team in the bowl (before the playoff era). Lane wanted to do the same and Ole Miss said no.
Please De Boer go to PSU. This will get so much funnier
