4/5 coming as a Top 25 ranked team to an unranked team, the other is a rivalry game we didnt show up after kickoff.

'25 SMU is another notch on the resume. Could make his Top 5 though (at Miami).

Why is that ok? We got some fortuitous TOs vs ND, really were dominating them into the 3rd and they Still had ball in hand with a chance to win. Similar to UF in terms of domination and they had the ball in the 4th quarter with the chance to take the lead.

Both times obv worked in our favor but we need to look past the outcome.

Throw in the fact it was to our former OC who wasn't even considered for this job. Not saying I wanted him, but it's a bad look.

He had taken the SMU job before we fired Manny. Also the optics of hiring another first time HC former coordinator from a failed staff right after they take a G5 job probably didn’t sit well with anyone.
 
Man, we got a Hit Parade going of "Worst Losses." Hard to keep track of them. Miss the days, decades ago of "Best Wins" debates in a season.

I'm resigned to the fact after these last two seasons that I'll be gone before things actually change. We so overrate and over hype both coaching and talent in this program.

You still have to look at the players - if you played at a high level and had a lot of success you'll understand this: you know there's Gut Check times, coaching mistakes or otherwise. You know: team leaders call a players only meeting - police the problems up themselves, demand accountability.

Plus if they aren't invested like that, these guys have their NIL value to play for if not the program or pride.

Agreed. Still, of all the coordinators we had that might have been a decent hire, it was him.

there are so many. we sanewashed the first season meanwhile manny took that roster and went 7 games over 500 in the same ****** conference (except clemson was good then)

mario has the roster to its best its been since 03, but this is one of the worst coaching jobs ive ever seen and likely his worst of his career and thats saying something.

the worst was they telegraphed any time they would throw bc of that (they would use haynes in the run game and their backup when they were in a down and distance obvious passing down)
