Lance confirms this is worst loss in Mario era

GT 2024 for me besides the obvious GT 2023. The QB couldn’t throw a forward pass and Mario didn’t think to maybe tell his DC to load the box and stop stunting! Still angers me to this day.
I will say that Key's alternating between two QBs was pretty masterful,

Maybe #6

Not Top 5

Not even top this year.

I have Louisville this year at home over this loss

Depends on what you define the worst loss to be.

If you define it as losing with the biggest on-paper talent discrepancy, it's MTSU 2022.

If you define it as losing a game in which you had the highest expected win percentage, it's GT 2023.

If you define it as losing a game in which you had the most to gain by winning it, it's Syracuse 2024.

If you define it as most frustrating loss with something on the line, maybe it is SMU. But that's probably recency bias. My vote would be Syracuse last year. As embarrassing at MTSU was/is, it's year 1 and we weren't winning anything that year. GT wasn't frustrating as much as it was horrifyingly embarrassing. We won the game somewhat convincingly, until we did the dumbest **** of all-time. But Syracuse, you're up 21-0 against an average team, with a playoff berth on the line. Hold on, you're in the playoffs. Blow it, you're not. It was totally cut and dry, black and white. And we blew it.
Syracuse last year was probably the most important game in 20 years.

What was the last loss where we weren't more talented and were not beat by clear coaching errors?
A flat out beat by a better team -

My first thought Alabama 2019? Restrepo first year, might have been Manny first year?

Every loss since then has felt like talent advantage Miami and coaching malpractice

That was 2021

But also, Michigan State that same year. Clemson in 2022. FSU in 22 and 23.

There are others but I know people would push back on them being more talented.

The worst losses for me are the ones against an opponent you should beat, that costs the program dearly.

GT 2005
Clemson 2009
Pitt 2017
Syracuse 2024

The SMU loss is both costly AND was a ridiculous collection of ineptitude and failure, so you can add it to the list.
Then why not UL 2025?

Who is Lance? And I don't think you understand the definition of the word "literally".

I’m going to post this , then go back in my cave.

Next year even if we have better team then the 1972 only unbeaten NFL team Miami Dolphins and would beat them 72 - 0 if played them .

Pollsters will LOL us to death in ranking us in the top 50 .

My insurance man a FSU fan said we’re tagged in CFB as October embarrassment.

I agreed happened to many times

Back into my cave I go

GT is still the worst for me because Mario literally stole the win away from his own team

I dont get mad at the GT loss as much because it was just **** luck he fumbled (he was down). It was a conservative way of trying to score...which is what we ***** about now. Honestly, I would've done the same.

Nothing....NOTHING equals losing to MTSU. The FIU loss was another staff with a much worse roster. MTSU is just inexcusable and it set the table for his inability to put lesser teams away early.

Have fun in your cave bro!

Losing to Middle Tennessee State by two touchdowns was the worst loss under Mario; on par with Manny losing to Florida International.

Losing to Syracuse last year with a 21-0 lead and the CFP on the line—outscored 42-17 down the stretch—was second worst.

Georgia Tech in 2023 was third as the game was won; overcame Tyler Van Yips giving it away with three picks—Mario didn't take a knee, Chaney didn't fumble, defense didn't do it's job and it was weeks of just getting shamed, ragged on and mocked mercilessly ... and then to lose to those bozos again last year to end an undefeated season; mind-boggling how the Yellow Jackets have been a thorn in the Canes' side since joining the ACC. I hate them.
