Putting those two athletic DT’s at nose will neutralize them, think Leonard Taylor in the 2023 season. I could see some snaps but not primary. I want those two getting upfield, putting pressure on the QB and not taking on double teams.
This scheme is about getting upfield even the NT. Blay is going to play NT. That’s what he played last year
Not totally true, this defense is designed to keep the MLB free so technically the Nose is getting up friend but that’s to cross the centers face and attack the guard to prevent second level blocks. That’s why Hetherman’s defense always has an All-Conference LB, because they are running free gobbling up tackles.
I can see Mesidor early in the season until the young guys can fully take over but by mid season we should only see Malik Bryant, Marquise Lightfoot, and Booker Pickett Jr. playing Jack.
Moten is perfect for this role, and I can't wait to see how our speed rushers develop too
Switch Moten and blay. Moten has the size of a nt being 320 but he doesn’t play like one. He plays more like a 3t. Blay I think is stouter at the point of attack than Moten and blay actually played NT last year
Moten just said in the spring he lost around 15lbs and was around 300 or 305. 19% body fat, could he have gained the weight back and gotten back to 320lbs in that time sure I suppose but he seems to be wanting to put on muscle which would be more difficult.
I didn’t know that I was going by his old weight. So he isn’t even 320 anymore
