Cant be they not in the SEC

If they recruit like this and start winning (cause talent wins) then a conference of power would want them. Thats all it is, its the university if they want to win or not. Conference bs doesn't do anything. Its just a tag and fake clout. Vandy aint getting recruits and they "SEC"

@Memnon wonder how they’re doing this in the Big 12….

I’m done trying to explain it when sh like this happens. This is literally a receipt in real time. But give it a month they will ignore this and say we have to move to a power conference. And this thread will be buried. And then middle Tennessee will get a five star recruit and it will be ignored

but we have to win to get the local 5* and $EC DTs ..... 90% of the time it's all about the $

brother, you and your guys have made your point. In dam near every recruiting thread.
Can we let this sh*t go and ride with our guys. You used to be a fun poster to follow. All of a sudden you've become so Negative and kind of acting like a baby. (Wanted to use the least disrespectful word possible because Im not looking to start anything)

But Camps started, we have kids that are proud to wear the U and this roster is 0-0. No one is signing in any recruiting class for months. Let's pivot the talk to the kids who will be winning games this year and worry about this sh*t later.

Fair, not offended

Let’s roll ND

Feels a bit Miami-esque where it’s like hey we are about to get left behind if we don’t throw some money around
Slight wager. I know a few people over there as well. #1 it's not sustainable. #2 it's not sustainable & #3 college sports aren't built this way anymore. Everyone adapts and the new rules just put in place will make it very difficult for anyone to just say well we got the money so **** em all. At the end of the day what's gonna separate one school from another (assuming this committee for nil deals works out) will come down to media support(i.e. conference alignment)& development. Anyone watching that thinks sec deserved to have all those teams littered throughout the top 25 so they can build strength of schedule and steal playoff bids is trippin. To me that's a monstrous issue that more than likely the only way to correct is finalize this deal NOW and jump in the big 10.

What’s the wager? If Miami or TT is more sustainable?

I think Miami is. Just saying I think they were in a similar spot (though further behind) and rallied some donors like hey we gotta make a move

Whenever the board starts debating if Mario was a good hire or not I always fall back that the foundation for the future feels like it’s in a good spot and that’s what matters to me

people are missing they are doing way more of these multiyear deals, whiich is definitely helping them. there is also a downside risk...

TT is under more pressure. Their coaching staff has to deliver plus they have to elevate their program past TCU and SMU which are recent playoff teams. Texas, A&M, Oklahoma get first dibs on the best in Texas with LSU occasionally getting at least one to two studs out of Texas each cycle

made it worth his while to commit now.

But it’s going to be real tough to hold onto him. It’s 2025 the hardest working recruiting coaches are putting all their effort into keeping 2026’s, monitoring unhappy kids at other places, and making sure their current kids are good. 2027’s are just getting some check ins a lot of mail, etc. Texas tech lasered in on this kid and treated him like he’s coming to campus this January.

They better win this year too or the whole vision they are selling falls apart at the start line
