Kul out at Bama

I remember posting this and getting backlash from someone for doubting Kul. Posted in December 2017. Not sure if those DEs were even his evals or the Coordinators/HC. He didn't recruit any of them:

Out of all the 4-5 star DL commits from 2001-2015, Kul was the primary recruiter for only 1 (Andy Maple). That was the only commit at any position, listed 4-stars or higher, where he was the primary. Btw, there are zero listed 4-5star prospects TARGETS from Texas (his supposed assigned recruiting territory) that listed Kul as their primary recruiter. Some profiles, especially before 2012, don't list every single primary recruiter. I'm hopeful, but the available data is concerning.

The primary recruiters for every 4/5star DT/DEs COMMITS, during Kul's tenure at Missouri:

Andy Maples - Recruited by Craig Kuligowski

All true. I stuck ny him through the 2017 cycle, but it ended in disaster. The guy can't recruit. He's clearly a good teacher and technician, but he's lazy on the trail.

Jesus, the bitterness on here is disgusting. Now Kool is overrated?
Alabama was ranked #1 in the country at creating pressure while only rushing 4.
And his resume from Mizzou speaks for itself.

Same MF's that call Kool overrated are the same dopes that wanna suck Rumph's pee-pee because Adrian Colbert played 3 downs in the NFL. (at a position that Rumph doesn't even coach lol)

It's all the same **** our fans said when we lost Stoutland. You guys get in your feelings every time we lose a coach or recruit, and all of a sudden they're overrated.

You dudes are a weird breed.

And LOL @ Simpson being an upgrade. Based on fvckin' WHAT exactly? He had the benefit of coaching a man-amongst-boys in Willis, an upperclassman Joe Jackson and a potential 1st day pick in Garvin. And his unit got pushed around like little children versus Wisconsin.

Listen..this board is filled with these neophytes. Mostly group think from this board...the single greatest collection of dummies anywhere.

and also apparently fired by Saban for a reason.
Well the Miss State guy he got was a beast and is better in all aspects, but now that Bagman extraoidinaire Lupoi is gone, they cant mask Kools recruiting deficiencies. Bama had the number 1 class (again) w Kool there, but they can't afford to just have a coach there anymore.

Also, he is a supercillious ****head.

I think u were the one who showed me the light, when i saw this all I could say is this is facts. U changed my opinion quickly and I got worried, Im always willing to change my stance with facts

Just a few short years ago these same dummies were calling him the best DL coach in America when he came here. Now, they're trying to rip the guy apart since he was stolen by the undeniably best football program in the land, all the while talking up Simpson like he's done anything ever on the same level.

Kul was never as good as people here made him out to be and he's better than anyone of these guys want to give him credit for. At least these posters are giving me a laugh with their blatant hypocrisy and unsubstantiated attacks on his character. Kul could be lazy, an ***, or whatever but I wouldn't know as I've never worked beside him.

Lupoi’s best skill is supposed to be recruiting, Kul’s is supposed to be his actual teaching of the position.

Interesting that the coach who (supposedly) doesn’t like recruiting and is the (assumes) better technical coach of the 2 isn’t the guy coaching an NFL D-Line this season ...

🤣🤣🤣🤣 right! The guy may be a lazy recruiter but to act like the guy can’t coach is asinine. He’s the best DL coach we’ve had here since Petri & one of the best in the country.

Some coaches are great recruiters, some are great coaches in terms of development & teaching...some can do both. The coaches that can do both are not easily to come by.

Coaches that excel in one area or the other are criticized in what they don’t do well.

I'm not going act like this man hasn't developed studs and **** on his resume just bc he left our (at the time) amatuer operation. The body of work speaks for itself, including our own Joe Jack, Chad, and Garvin.

Yes, he is a certified douchebag thats less lilkeable than syphillis (allegedly gave Mizzous playbook away after being fired) . And yes, he is a HORRENDOUS recruiter, but the man can coach and has receipts to back it up. He was hired by Saban for a reason, and tbh, Bamas d line still performed at a high level last yr (except when it counted of course against Clemson) and keep in mind that they lost Payne who was from another dimension. Watch what our D Line does this year wo Willis if you think a loss like that isnt significant.

As has been stated, he wants to go to the NFL where his work is highly respected. He hasn't been hired bc he's an ******* nobody likes.
Guess you missed the part where he wasn’t retained at Alabama

If he’s such a great DL Coach then why’d the best coach in the history of college football run him off after one season where the DL regressed? Waiting for the football scientists to break this unsolvable mystery down with their football abacuses and football electron microscopes.

Some of you guys act like this fat **** has the recipe to McDonald’s secret sauce. Everything that fat shiftless kielbasa knows every other competent DL coach knows. We just took a career HS coach and got better play from our DL than the inventor of DL coaching ever gave us.

Acquire talent and put them in a good downhill scheme. There’s your secret. Tool has been lucky enough throughout his career to have people acquire very good talent for him.

Simple: He's as huggable as a cactus and a sorry recruiter.

Any DL would regress after losing a mutant freak like Payne. They were still Top 15 - 20 in all relevant categories. Watch how we regress w/o Willis and ppl start going in on Jess.

In his replacement Saban got a better coach AND better recruiter which was key given that kools bama sugar daddy Lupoi departed.

That doesn't mean kool is a ****** coach or doesn't have a legit body of work tho. I remember Chad before he got here and after. He had Joe Jack and Garvin ball in as freshmen. He's a good coach, but he's an even better ****head.

NFL & college teams already done hiring for the 2019 season already?

**** that’s crazy

Stoutland was out of a job & on the scrap heat before Miami called him to coach...the rest is history & you dudes sing his overrated praises like none other on this board but now since Kool whose been out of a job for what...a month now...he’s dog **** right?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 FOH

Show me good players, and I'll show you a good coach. Again, I liked Kool, was a tad peeved when he left. But guess what? Miami was just fine without him as Willis came on like gangbusters.

This reminds me of boxing and trainers, the ones who arent' egomaniacs will admit - the better the boxer in their corner, the better they are. Freddie Roach has flat out told me, he's not nearly as good a coach when Manny Pacquiao isn't on his stool. And Freddie has absolutely helped 'the Pac Man' evolve throughout the years, but he knows he has a lot to work with.

Same thing with coaching football or any other sport for that matter. Give a guy enough talent, the smarter he'll look.

As long as UM recruits well, coaches will look good
